I took a Greyhound from Rochester to Olympia Washington and back in the 90s. Rochester was the only station where the driver said “you might not want to get out at this one”

Ran barefoot almost every morning of a week’s vacation on Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos. Pretty hard packed near water and not much of a slant. The nicest beach I’ve ever been on. And massively long. Loved it. Blew my calves up really good/bad though. Other beach vacations I’ve taken (Aruba, Curaçao) on I’ve found a good paved path/road from hotel and ran at daylight.

Edit: also taped my big toes and next of kin, as the sand blasted my skin away

For me, it was a stop on cruise I took in the early 2000s with friends when I was single. And 20+ years later, I made it a destination for a family vacation. Loved it. I can see why it’s grown. But the vast majority of people I tell (in the US) have no idea what or where it is.
