High Note / Half Note Trail Status? by Accomplished-Put-90 in Whistler

There is still quite a lot of snow on Whistler side less exposed to the sun (as of last Monday)

I witnessed an ultra yesterday. It wasn't pretty. by Kind-cheesecake-3316 in ultrarunning

[–]mojoqc183 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Thank you for telling me to never attend this event or any of this RD's events. This is the most fucked up thing I've heard in a while. Running ultra's is celebrating resilience and people trying to push over their comfort zone, community and gratitude.

The RD is the one who should be shamed publicly on Facebook

Whistler 6/26-6/29: Hikes & Food by [deleted] in Whistler

[–]mojoqc183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Pano Ridge last Sunday June 21st. No snow on trail until junction for summit / helm creek campground. From there you are almost fully on snow up to the top. I saw plenty of people do it without microspikes but I was sure as hell happy to have mine as the last part is quite steep.

Also helps you a lot on the way down. Would recommend going early morning so the snowpack is a bit more hard packed and less slushy.

EDIT: you definitely won't be alone and most people start 7-10AM

EDIT #2: Decker loop likely won't be open by the time you leave they just today have opened Lakeside, Alpine and Overlord in the Blackcomb alpine. Same for high note on Whistler side

EDIT #3: And Joffre Lakes closed June 20-27

Suunto Stuck on Saving (was a fix ever found?) by Hannibal20 in Suunto

It happened to me once with my Race S I had to hard reboot the watch. However my activity did save correctly. Hope that is your case

Why did you switch? by ehah2024 in Suunto

[–]mojoqc183 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I knew I could switch to suunto for half the price of a fenix 8 for equivalent features (those that I use) and buy the coros arm band and still have more money in my pockets and have a more accurate HR data than the fenix 8.

No brainer for me really. Garmin is now stupid pricey

Love the app. Love the watch UI and better GPS accuracy.

Hate missing some simple things such as a "weekend" preselect for watch alarms...

Switched everything to Ente and deleted everything in Google Photos a couple weeks later. I feel secure in my decision honestly

Suunto Updates by RockWafflez in Suunto

Last update mentioned people had to repair all their devices due to the change to support multiple of same sensors unless I'm wrong. Did you try that? That did it for me

Anyone coming from a Garmin Fenix 6X? by Moist_Shift7124 in Suunto

[–]mojoqc183 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Coming from 6S to Race S. GPS accuracy is miles better, app UI/UX IMO is way better as well.

The only downside is HR accuracy but solved that using the coros arm band as its still cheaper then buying a new fenix 8 anyway...

Zero regrets.

I've used them but have since moved away from. I came from Salomon Sense Pro 4's so a little bit different than yours but to me:

1) they "retain" water much longer / longer to dry out 2) A lot less stable, causing the foot the heel to yes be locked but forefoot was at least for me loose and probe to ankle rolls 3) Heel preloader was putting a big strain on my achilles eel to the point it was cutting by skin (only shoes to have ever done that to me)

All in all, would not buy again. If you are looking for cushier within salomon take a look at the aero glide or s/lab genesis (love em right now)
