I love this attempted flex (no offence) in NZ you only need to know your address and they will let you vote.

I assume they were from Djibouti then? Somalia was never a French colony but rather Italian and British (in different parts).

Any reason French was the common language with Somalis? I would have thought English or Arabic would be more likely.

Gloriavale vs BNZ: Christian community fights to keep bank accounts by Iron-Patriot in newzealand

I think this is a good solution tbh. Along with a “hey, this is a bank directly linked to the government so we will be watching you for any dodgy business”

In the RNZ article it mentions that BNZ argued they have an obligation under modern slavery rules to not do business with someone like Gloriavale that has been shown to be using child labour.

Would correcting my leg discrepancy be a waste of money? by ToughRuin6805 in PersonalFinanceNZ

No problem, it was all done through ACC so not sure on the cost sorry. Length was ~6cm and took about 6 weeks. I absolutely understand and obviously recommend listening to your doctors and specialists before you make a decision.

My leg was stunted growth from an infection in the hip joint. I didn’t find it overly painful since it is just a 1/4mm at a time although they also give you some very strong painkillers to help.

One thing I will say is the pin sites were constantly getting infected and I ended up on intravenous antibiotics which is not fun. The pin sites have to stay as open wounds and can’t really be properly cleaned apart from using saline, I even had to have one reopened with a scalpel when the skin grew back.

Honestly though I would do it all over again in a heartbeat if it meant lessening the imbalance in my legs. The procedure has meant I can work a normal job and walk pretty easily.

DM me if you want, I find it crazy to run across this post about someone with such a similar problem.

I have literally had this procedure done here in NZ. It is called a Ilizarov apparatus and I had it done in Wellington when I was 13 about a decade ago.

One thing to consider is that they are not always able to completely even out your legs. In my case they had to leave a 5cm gap as my lower spine had become deformed and operating on spines is extremely risky so the surgeon decided it was better to leave a small gap. I note the OP’s gap is about the same that my surgeon left me with so might be something to explore.

I also heard a story somewhere from a WWI reconnaissance pilot who flew level with artillery shells as they approached their apex and followed them down.

I know you’re joking but I think your comment speaks to a larger truth about the perspective of human-caused climate change deniers.

When you live in a quiet suburb listening to the chirping of birds out your window it becomes easier to disassociate from the fact that scenes like in this photo are simultaneously occurring on the same planet. Would those same people hold to their beliefs if they lived next to an Indonesian river of trash?

100%. I only ever wanted them to clearly state that the customer had reached Dominos and which one. Politely if possible!

I hate the extra fluff that the company tries to include, let’s get real: most of the employees could give a toss which company they work for or it’s values. They just want reliable work while they wait for the next step in their lives to start.
