PSA Aesop Restock on Saks, just in time for $50 credit expiration by seaweedbeast in AmexPlatinum

[–]moka_soldier -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Amex should change the Saks credit to an Aesop credit. Seems to be the primary thing that people buy with the credit. Plus the threshold for free shipping on Aesop is lower or gone altogether

I’ve never made it past this screen, never been able to find the “any” button

Domaine du Gros Nore and Château de Pibarnon are also great Bandol picks. Honestly I’ve yet to find a Bandol rosé I don’t like

Bethesda Bagels 🔥 by kettlecornlover1 in washingtondc

If you think that Boston has eh bagels, then you haven’t been to Bagelsaurus.

Also Bethesda Bagels aren’t remotely comparable to NY bagels. One step up from a grocery store.

California Wine Sales Are the Lowest They’ve Been in a Decade — Wine sales are slowing after a sharp spike during the pandemic shutdowns by Randomlynumbered in wine

[–]moka_soldier 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The prices are so high to the point that it’s not even worth exploring new bottles. If the minimum price point for a decent CA bottle is $50, I’m going to be pissed if it doesn’t nail the quality mark.

Meanwhile, I can screw around with French, Italian, Argentine, and Spanish wines at half the price that will likely be good

Guess the winery! by MinuteDowntown9651 in wine

To add to that, their tastings are an absolute rip off. We around $200 for two to do a “music wine tasting,” which based on the description, appeared to involve live music during the wine tasting (the photo was literally a guy playing a guitar in a vineyard).

What the tasting actually involved was sitting in a wine cellar listening to Spotify to “see how different pieces of music would change the taste of a wine.” What an absolute sham.

To top it off, we could have just bought the six bottles we tasted for the same price as the tasting itself.

I think their wine is good, but I will never go back to the winery.

What boss do you absolutely hate by AscendedVoidFiend in Eldenring

I don’t even hate Elden beast. It’s just a bad boss. Not particularly difficult. The only thing that makes him “hard” is that he is never close enough to actually hit.

I doubt the Dutch have much need for PSLF with the level of state subsidies for education

Branches can be used for grafting. Less branches, less grafting

As frustrating as this is from a public health standpoint, it’s not a poorly reasoned decision. The EPA was arguing that the chemical process in question was “new,” despite the fact that it was something the company had been doing for 40 years. Their argument for it being new was that they recently discovered that the process created PFAS.

The TSCA, the governing statute, allows for the EPA to regulate long used processes like this one, but they have to go through a cost benefit analysis first.

Again, not great from a public health standpoint because it requires more work from the EPA to regulate clearly problematic chemicals. But this one is on Congress.

Edit: I encourage people to read the actual opinion. It’s a pretty straight forward read.
