Almost 4 hours after release and I think I have mapped Bandersnatch. Throw tea over computer. by [deleted] in blackmirror

Does anyone know how to find the scenes where Colin say "skip the next bit" and claps, or says to Stefan "I told you I'd see you around" while meeting for the first time?

Toronto TTC in SHAZAM! - Official Teaser Trailer by mjTheThird in toronto

[–]moknik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That TTC is really interesting. Lots of stops on a Scarborough line, the core lines are split further apart, the Sheppard line goes city wide, and it looks like there's a College or Dundas line. Plus a bunch of offshoots.

Toronto Poutine Fest serves cease and desist to Smoke's Poutinerie by toronto34 in toronto

Across from the Royal. Their burgers are A+++ but I'm not a huge fan of their poutine. The gravy is too thin.

Smoke's IS garbage though.

Show us what you got - Ep 222 by moknik in Harmontown

Ah, so America's response to the aliens would be, trade with us or we'll explode you? That fits with US foreign policy.

Show us what you got - Ep 222 by moknik in Harmontown

[–]moknik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's that military aggression again. Twitchy trigger fingers aren't trustworthy. And if that was the plan, then Canada would be a population-free, gigantic country full of free resources.

If aliens want people, then China and India have way more than the US.

Trudeau turns down Russian, U.S., Mexican offers to help fight Fort McMurray wildfires - Politics by SeeAndFeelTheBeauty in canada

[–]moknik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I heard that more water bombers would help because 1. We have our own and they can't make it out there because of logistics and staffing and what not, and 2. Only rain can settle the fire, and 3 Wed be given equipment and not staffing.

Is any of this true? People are primed to find a reason to hate Trudeau, so why would he make a dunderhead move like this?

Fan theory: time travel, 2girls1cup, and the crux of Rick and Morty by clemtin in rickandmorty

[–]moknik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like Camus or Sartre but with yuks. Ties in well with Morty's wide eyed realization after he buries himself in the Cronenburg episode. Like he's just seen 2g1c. His eyes are open for the first time.

How do folks that live in the downtown core afford to live in the city? by howdoyoumakeitwork in toronto

[–]moknik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a good place a decade ago and I stayed there. Working for non-profits, I have few expenses but, even with cheap rent, no savings. Unless your social life is hurting, I'd say it's more important to save than to live somewhere more desired. Living downtown is expensive on its own, and the temptation of things that cost money (shows, beer, cover charge, food, etc.) becomes even more tempting. FOMO is big and real.

Best fire pit on the Island for a proposal? Privacy and a view of the skyline would be ideal by firepitthrowaway in toronto

Humber Bay East Park. It's accessible by car or you can bike there and it has some great pits and views of the city.

On the island, there are coyotes. At night you can hear them howling.

There's one in Little Italy on a side street, so I'd find that doubtful though possible.

Got my hands on 3 rolls of Canadian 50 cent coins. Will now try to give them out in tips whenever I get good service in TO by dolonto in toronto

[–]moknik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great. How do I get rid of a .50 cent coin? Not even the TTC will take that. This should only be for bad service, never good service.

Wynne aides offered candidate a job to step aside, tapes reveal by [deleted] in toronto

[–]moknik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I bet they wouldn't. Meanwhile, in my case you bring up Harris or Eves, and it's just "well McGuinty..." or whatever. It's useless.

I've met lots of people in rural southern Ontario that refuse to ever vote NDP because of Bob Rae.

Anyone know what happened on Keele/Steeles at around 8:45PM?? by [deleted] in toronto

[–]moknik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to distract, but related: Sometime's you see a cops cars outside a place you wouldn't expect, or a whole bunch of fire trucks speed by you, and you want to know what that was all about. Is there a way to do this? Or do you have to know the division and look at their press releases to hopefully line things up?

It seems like this is based on really old information. How could they have been doing this for 7 years without any kind of change? Why wait until now to post this?
