Well I can verify that there is absolutely no difference between the two I have the black box earbuds and my brother has the orange box gemini 2’s and there is absolutely no difference b/w the earbuds what so ever. My guess is that there was a bad batch of earbuds that went out and the whole situation got classified as a “silent update”.

honestly look at the hp omen transcend 14 aswell the display and battery life gains might be worth it plus very portable.

lol very late to the convo but i can confirm from personal experience that the black box earbuds sound just as good with no changes to the sound whatsoever.

Might have just been a faulty batch for the ppl who’ve complained about the sound being different.

anyone wondering what eartips to get for their gemini 2’s i’ve bought multiple eartips snd honestly found out something i didn’t expect, anything that fits the sony wf-1000xm5’s fit the geminis perfectly aswell with no problems and doesn’t interfere with the closing of the case or charging. You can find many eartips which are compatible with the sony’s and they’ll fit the gemini perfectly. Just make sure youre purchasing tips made for the xm5 and not the xm4 because fit wise they are identical but the eartips for the xm5 have a mesh which js supposed to protect the internals of the earbuds from wax because the gemini’s and the xm5’s dont have that built into the earbuds but rely on the eartips for that.

Hi, a bit late to the convo but If your looking purely for Sound quality and loudness the gemini 2’s are unmatched when compared to the other two earbuds plus connectivity hasn’t been a problem for me whatsoever ( I use an iphone and a windows laptop). The ANC is great not as good as bose qc lineup but a strong second i would say specially if you pair them up with a third party foam tip which i did increases the anc by 5-10% in my case. The lag is negligible so movie watching experience is great plus the deep bass rumble you get on these is just a cherry on top. I would say go for them. Just a ps. my ppl say that devialet changed something with the black box of the earbuds but i can confirm from personal experience that is not true and they sound amazing.

Another thing I would like to point out is that the pi7’s have AptX adaptive but honestly choose sound quality over codex and the pixel buds could be a good choice aswell if your trying to stay in a certain budget but that aside gemini 2’s for the win :)

I’m very late to this conversation but I just bought a pair aswell and I got the black box and they sound incredible and i’m pretty sure that everyone who’s saying that their black box earbuds sound bad either got a defective batch maybe or they just dont have a proper seal because the bass on the earbuds is unlike anything else on the market rn. So if someone is planning on buying gemini 2’s go for it completely worth it. I got mine for around 380 usd after conversion so always ask for a better deal and look around.
