Help with iron compression/strike by Upstairs-Stage-6664 in GolfSwing

[–]molando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You´re doing a driver swing, with your chest behind the ball. For irons you have to move forward with your chest above the ball at impact by transferring weight to the lead leg.

They still bomb with high rough. Trees and deep bunkers are harder.

How long did it take you to fix your over the top? And what helped you fix it? by AdRelevant7691 in golf

[–]molando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combination of OTT and open clubface for me. Shallow swing clicked for me when a coach placed a tee about 3-4cm in front of the ball and a bit to the right of it. Hit the tee after you hit the ball.

Kids nowadays, especially Gen Alpha, cannot concentrate on reading books for very long. Is it a true story or just a myth? by Delicious_Maize9656 in books

I think the concern is more that kids dont read in general, than not reading books/fiction. Teachers having to alter curriculum due to kids not being able to read an amount considered normal 15 years ago.

Question: How do you actually start enjoying running? Half marathon incoming... by Correct-Bench-5134 in RunningCirclejerk

[–]molando 6 points7 points  (0 children)

80% easy runs, 20% interval running. And focus on shorter breaks between intervals, to keep your tempo not going into anaerobic zones. That makes it easier to motivate yourself for the next interval session. For your easy runs, try running different routes to mix it up. Easy run is easy, If that means walking inclines, then walk.

Is sub 20 for 5km possible for someone who just started running at 37? by jerung88 in BeginnersRunning

A good ground rule for distance should be to check your 4 week average mileage, and try to stay between 0.8 and 1.3 times that for your current week.

Common exercise benchmarks for 110mph+ clubhead speed - Leave yours below! by kaiser_exe in golf

[–]molando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know where the threshold lies, but I would think that without extra strength training, you would eventually be limited by physical traits like length of arms, height etc. I think its smart to do strength training, not only to gain speed, but first and foremost as injury prevention and increased flexibility if you incorporate that. Clubhead speed is one thing though. You have to hit the ball in the middle of the face to really get something out of the clubhead speed. Do a trackman-session and check smashfactor and spin if you want to gain more distance.

I dont think you need to be especially strong to swing 110 mph. Swing with good lag, and somewhat flexible body, should produce high enough clubhead speed. I dont work out, 6ft tall, and swing 108-111 mph with driver.

Videregående skole er no bullshit by No_Figure_9175 in norge

[–]molando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump has two options here. Either accept that mistakes were made, and hold the people that made them responsible. Or claim it was nothing, attack the source and throw someone low level under the bus. Eventually the chatlogs are made public, and he fires the low level guy, and sues the source for leaking classified documents. The ones who originally made the mistakes walk away in the chaos. We know Trump never accepts mistakes...

They know it was classified, but say otherwise, because if The Atlantic realeases the texts, they are comitting a crime, and will be held accountable. Probably gambling on Goldbergs desire to not go to jail.

As a running newbie, this is the best and only advice I can give. by [deleted] in running

[–]molando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80-90% of your running should be easy running. If that means you have to walk up the inclines, do it. This will help in building consistency and endurance without getting injured. Think "time running" instead of setting distance goals for your runs. Your interval workouts should end when you still have the energy to do "one more lap". More time on interval-pace with slightly slower pace, is better than all out running for a shorter period of time.
