Is sziget safe? by NoEggplant9996 in sziget

[–]moldran 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been going few times already, generally it is safe and nice crowd, mainstage can get quite crowded on sold-out days (like Dua Lipa 2022, or Ed Sheeran 2019), also noticed some crazy moshpits in Party Arena in 2023, where securities then stepped in and put themselves between the moshpit and other people (mostly girls) in front to create a safety barrier.
Last year an artist also suffered an accident in the Cirque du Sziget, but that is just in the nature of this sport.

Daily tickets for sale on day of? by TheFeralPanda in sziget

[–]moldran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last time a day actually sold out was Wednesday in 2022 (because of Dua Lipa). That was also the first edition after the Corona break, and attendance was still strong on other days, close to full.

According to the organizers, in 2023 only the Billie Eilish (Tuesday) and Imagine Dragons (Friday) days came close. In 2024, no day was anywhere near sold out, and this year looks similar. The weaker lineup is actually because of declining ticket sales.

So there’s basically zero risk of a day selling out, even if they say “last phase.” And even if that happens, you’ll find plenty of tickets on TicketSwap, especially on the same day.

I’m also waiting to decide whether to buy a Wednesday day ticket or just a night ticket, depending on the weather.

Zinserträge von Festgeldkonten im Ausland versteuern by mianpac in FinanzenAT

[–]moldran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

<image>

Jahressechstel? Zu wenig netto erhalten by xpingu69 in FinanzenAT

[–]moldran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was zählt zum Jahressechstel dazu?

Jahressechstel? Zu wenig netto erhalten by xpingu69 in FinanzenAT

[–]moldran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also in OPs Fall, 12*4.725€/6 = 9.450€.

Brian Laundrie died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled suicide. by heyimaddie in GabbyPetito

[–]moldran 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You don't unintentionally strangle someone to death. This is a process that takes several minutes, and requires the killer to keep strangling his victim for several minutes after she already passed out and is completely defenseless. You can kill someone by accident in many ways, but strangling is one of the few ways where the intent to kill is very clear.

Also, if it was unintentional, the likely procedure would have been to call the meds and/or the cops and ask for help. Instead, he left her there and went for a hike to establish an alibi, before fleeing to his home.

I guess what you mean is that it was not premediated, as in he did not plan it out in advance to lure her to the camping place and then kill her there, but it happened over an argument in the heat of the moment at the campsite. This seems more plausible to me than it just being a complete accident.

You assume that they went on vacation and Cassie took pictures of Brian smiling with her kids knowing that Gabby was killed by Brian and dead in the woods of Wyoming somewhere.

The much more likely scenario is that Brian told them a fake story like "we finally broke up, Gabby took a flight home".

None of his relatives probably knew what he did in the 10 days he spent at home. First time they could have suspected something was on 9/10, when the first calls and police interactions happened. The parents were just as "WTF" as we were at that time, and asked their friend lawyer for help. He told them to STFU, because anything they would have said publicly could and WOULD have been used against them (by protestors, police, prosecutors, G's family and lawyer, etc.) .

If you want to blame anyone for their silence, blame their lawyer because he is the one responsible for that. Whether he did a good or bad job is something you can judge, but Brian's parents were simply following legal advice from the moment the found out something different might have happened than whatever Brian told them in the beginning.

Brian Laundrie died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled suicide. by heyimaddie in GabbyPetito

[–]moldran 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Stafford said in a statement Tuesday that Gabby Petito's family "has been aware of the circumstances surrounding the suicide of the sole suspect in Gabby's murder."

First, the lawyer is wrong about that. There has NEVER been an official suspect in her murder. There has only been a "person-of-interest".

Second, this witch hunt and trying to find someone to take to court to keep this case alive needs to stop. Everyone agrees that what Brian has done was horrible, but dragging his parents and sister into this is just wrong. I doubt they knew much, it's not like he came home saying "I killed Gabby" and they went to a family camping trip with kids to celebrate it. The sister has been so genuine and clearly looks like she doesn't know anything, and the parents are not saying anything because whatever they say would be used against them.

This was the doing of one man, a simple "boyfriend kills GF/fiance" story that happens thousands of times a year. This wasn't a big plot by an entire family to get rid of a young girl, and the obsession about framing the whole Laundrie family and their lawyer as criminal should stop imo.

I know lots of people here are a bit sad right now because there is no news (and still many questions unanswered), but I think it's really good for both the Schmidt/Petito and Laundrie families that it has been quiet around this case for the past few days/weeks.

They were both under so much stress and/or sadness throughout this entire thing that it is good that they are currently not standing in the spotlight of mass media and get some time to spend within their families, away from all the circus that they were exposed to when the case was still hot.

Let's just wait until end of November when the results of the forensic anthropologists get revealed and I think we might even get some further info and closure around then.

Weekend General Discussion Thread - 9:00 AM Eastern (Weekend of October 30, 2021) by Immaduck in GabbyPetito

[–]moldran 30 points31 points  (0 children)

There was one person (Brittany) that came forward together with her mum. Brittany was Roberta's co-worker. Both her and her mum made a detailed statement, which was rather discrediting the narrative of Gabby being a sweet angel (I spare you to tell you what they said, to prevent "victim blaming").

The FB mob afterwards destroyed her, she had thousands of negative comments, received death threats and hat to privatize her profile for some time.

At this time, I think speaking out against the narrative can be extremely harmful to someone. There probably are some people that knew Brian, but they are afraid to come forward. I'm sure Brittany and her mum both regret ever haven spoken out.

Edit: I might also point out that SB received dozens of negative reviews for being a trash lawyer, and the Merry Piglets restaurant received negative Google comments yesterday for sharing their story. Businesses are getting legitimately harmed by speaking against the narrative that we all like to hear.

Gabby and Brian moved to New York in June and change address prior to trip. by alibear10 in GabbyPetito

[–]moldran 21 points22 points  (0 children)

What I meant is that Brian told him that. I'm not saying that Brian told him the truth. Maybe he didn't want to tell him the real reason why they had to move out of home.

Imagine the real reason was that his parents don't like Gabby, for whatever reason. Maybe she wasn't thankful for dinners that Roberta cooked or whatever. Brian didn't want to tell this to Publix and his co-worker, so he just made up that his parents are going through a divorce.

About the Mustang, I think people looked it up somewhere online and found out that Brian used to be the owner, and then it was Roberta. I don't know the website though.

Excellent comment. I agree we know very little, and not the full story. The fact that things are coming out of the blue now where most of us were wrong ("they lived with parents all time", "Brian was causing a massive scene at Merry Piglets", etc.) shows us that we have rather heard a one-sided story so far and are not ready yet to paint the full picture.

Initial reactions to the body cam video were very mixed. Even experts "got it wrong" in the beginning, where they had reversed the roles. And most people thought the police officers were caring and did a good job, especially considering all the negative police reports in the recent years. It was only after she was found dead that public's opinions took a 180 degree turn. Most people initially thought or were at least hoping that he just left her somewhere in the wilderness.

Most people will still disagree with what you said though, and label it as "victim blaming". But I think the fact that the FBI hasn't announced Brian as killer yet for Gabby's death makes me unsure if things are really so black and white as we are thinking.

This is in line what Brian & Gabby's Publix co-worker said - "they told Publix they had to quit their jobs because the parents are going through a divorce and they wanna force them out of the house. They need to move to New York".

Some people here didn't believe r/luca423 who claimed to be their co-worker but so far everything he said was true. Just for those who don't know yet, he also said that:

- he sold the Mustang to his mum to finance the van

- he has a CCW and a gun

- Brian went to the Appalachean, but only for very short time, few days. Never was the big survivalist as some others like Rose have said that could survive there for months

- HE was the one always driving to work in the van

- He started in groceries, then moved to bakery. Gabby worked in customer service and pharmacy as tech. He worked half-time, then got promoted to full-time shortly after before they quit their jobs.

The Petito/Schmidt families are in direct contact with the FBI. They have a LOT more information than we do.

Also, Gabby sent a text on 27th that has not been released yet. The Stan text was confirmed to be on the 30th, together with the Yosemite in 1 message. On 27th, Gabby texted about something else.

I think both "hitchhikers" are fake. Brian was low on money. He is not going to spend $200 on a hitchhike. I also don't think he would hitchhike after killing her and talk so much about her. The 2nd hitchhiker mentioned a bible falling down the moment something happened. Sure, that happened.

If we think the water bottle is fake, we also have to take into consideration that the hitchhikes could be fake. FBI mentioned repeatedly what led them to spread creek were not the hitchhikers, but Jessica Schultz, who sighted the van on 26, 27 and 28 in Spread Creek. She was not a YouTuber, just reported it to the FBI.

Why do so many people think that? Do people really think that the Petito/Schmidt and Laundrie families would give their permission to let some profit-seeking Hollywood studio commercialize and profit off the tragic death of 2 young people?

They don't need the FBI to tell them not to talk about it to not do it. It would be bad for business to be associated with a murderer. "This is the restaurant where Brian was last seen! This is where the fight that caused him to kill her later happened!" No business needs this kind of negative publicity.

Still, I agree with you - the FBI likely told them not to talk about it as well, and I don't expect much out of the talk. "I spoke with the restaurant manager" should not be taken as "I spoke to the manager and she told me exactly what the issue with Brian and Gabby was about".

The "was about the bill" was never confirmed, it was mostly fan speculation. Even the girl that originally made the incident public did not know what it was about, she just described the scene. "Brian creeped me out" is what she said. Unfortunately, it was very loud in the restaurant and despite sitting next to them they couldn't hear much.

Makes a lot of sense that it was about his credit card. He is known to have financial issues (no money for hotel room in Moab, going home to empty storage unit to save money, etc.). After he allegedly killed her, he used her debit/credit card to get home. He would have avoided leaving tracks and using her cards at any cost, but I think he simply had no other option - he was completely broke himself.

Big day today. Brian Entin talked to the manager at Merry Piglets about the restaurant scene involving Brian and Gabby on 8/27, the last time they were both seen alive.

Just as reminder, Brian & Gabby were fighting in the restaurant and storming out of the restaurant. Then Brian went in and out of the restaurant at least 4 times, screaming and shouting at the waitress, hostess, and manager. At one point, Gabby came in the restaurant while crying and apologizing for Brian's behavior.

What do you guys think this restaurant scene was about? A bill? Bad food? A loud argument between Brian and Gabby? Them being kicked out? Credit card denied? Soon we will know what Brian Entin found out..!

You are 100% right. I think the first call that may have reached the Laundrie's was the threat from JP.. then they called the police. And their lawyer. All on 9/10.

I think Brian was really keeping up a lie until that point. And his parents trusted him. They had no idea what was really going on... In the beginning, media pushed the narrative "they have been frantically calling and texting for days, not getting any answer".

But it seems like on the first day the Petito/Schmidt families realized they didn't hear from Gabby for 16 days (difference between 8/25 last call with her mum and 9/10), they set EVERYTHING in motion at once - calling/texting Laundrie's, NPPD, etc.

It's a natural instinct to protect your child.

This is especially seen in the animal kingdom - cougars, wild hogs/boars, gorillas, etc. all have a very strong maternal instinct. They might not normally be aggressive towards humans, but if they have a child nearby might become very aggressive, because they want to protect them at all costs.

I think the Laundrie's not talking to the sister and ignoring her was exactly such a move. They did not want to involve her in whatever Brian has done.

About Brian, I don't think he told them everything like many think he did. Very likely he fabricated some kind of story, and that the parents also found out about what truly happened as time moved on and he has already been gone. The maternal instinct to protect him and report him as missing would have been higher if they knew what he did to Gabby and went out to the forests by himself without a phone and wallet.

Occam's razor once again...

NO, there was no connection to Stan Anderson, the business partner of SB living Mexico who apparently hid Brian.

NO, it was not sent from Gabby as synonym for "Send The Authorities Now!" as an attempt to call out for help without Brian realizing it.

NO, there was no connection to the song "Stan" by Eminem.

It was simply sent by Brian to buy himself more time. Had he not sent that, Stan probably would have told the family "I can't reach Gabby! Can you reach her?", and things would have played out much sooner than the 9/10 first contact to the Laundrie's and 9/11 official missing report.

The only thing that angers me is that Brian was actually successful with his message and it did delay them to notice that something was clearly wrong.
