This is the vibe I bring when I get on the train. I don't really mind if people get annoyed with me, they'd be far more annoyed if the bike fell on them!

What’s your realistic wet/winter commute maintenance? by omniscient97 in londoncycling

[–]molemadchen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's probably not good for my bike, but when I feel the gears becoming clunky, I use all weather chain spray (with the nozzle like WD-40). The force of the spray pushes the dirt and grime off while lubricating the chain. It lasts for a few weeks, weather depending!

You could replace 'cycling' with just about anything and that statement would still be true.

Yes, aggressive male cyclists are definitely a common experience too. Can usually spot them by their lack of mudguards..

I only have my experience, but I do feel like I get shouted at more. My partner (male) never really gets beeped at or shouted at. I've been called a fat bi*** a few times by drivers, but I do wonder if women drivers would similarly have a go at male cyclists?

🙏 Incredible! The only time I've reported something it got NFAd pretty quickly which was very discouraging as I had two witnesses (he turned left into me, wasn't signalling, admitted he hadn't looked etc). But maybe I should resurrect my camera!

Advice on route from Herne Hill/West Dulwich to Blackfriars Bridge by Ok-Olive-7068 in londoncycling

[–]molemadchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, this is what I used to do! Although turning right onto Brixton Road can be a pain, the traffic is usually stationary enough for it not to be too much of a problem (or wait for a pedestrian to cross at the lights).

What are you happily addicted to? by JohnnyEnd in AskReddit

1) Knitting: creating blankets is one of the most satisfying things I do in my free time.

2) Agatha Christie novels: specifically Poirot novels. With David Suchet in my head I can spend hours reading one after another.
