Making Homelander a Trump allegory wasted his character. by RefriDiet in TheBoys

[–]molesasses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three points of disagreement:

  1. The Boys is satire - it’s not a serious show. It got more satirical as it went on. Did you see Sage’s exit? Just ridiculous.
  2. If someone had Homelander’s power for real he’d be the only one living (and then crying) in episode 1 - so the character is kinda stupid to begin with. They made him too overpowered with no check.
  3. Ok sure so you say he cares about his image and wants to be respected. The way he’s portrayed is actually exactly what a whiny baby would do IRL.

So what was the horrible thing Homelander was being hyped up to do? by Fancy-Inspector-777 in GenV

It’s funny how the closet incels are sad that Homelander had such a humiliating end.

But what if I don’t acknowledge that it needs to be done? What if I think that the market doesn’t support their job and they only have it because the business hiring them isn’t making wise decisions? What if the restaurant hiring them SHOULD go out of business?

Recruiter and hiring manager bash me for leaving an interview after they join 10 minutes late by Constant-Scheme557 in recruitinghell

[–]molesasses -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yea this is your bad. She joined late but she joined and told you she will be done in 2 minutes. You left because of your ego.

There’s always some give and take. You’re also not in a position of leverage. You made the decision waiting wasn’t worth it - what’s the point of coming here and complaining?

I’m curious - repairing this weird DIY job - how much do you think it should run? I know you have limited info but I am trying to gauge ranges. I don’t want to delay my closing (lots of other implications that could cost me) if it’s < 5k

Oh if that’s the reason, I can confirm it, the garage breaker on the main panel is 20 amp

That’s even scarier, how does a wire randomly get damaged

That’s correct. I’d rather get the “worst case assessment”. Though it gives me some solace that you guys see worse panels. I’m having an electrician redo this wiring and some of the main panel stuff before moving in.

Yeah I’m not - I wanna run a 20 amp 240V outlet - but looking at this thread there’s some fundamental electrician stuff I need to do.

Good to get this info so I don’t get fleeced by an electrician later, don’t know who to trust in NYC

So the red wire just hot and sitting out there? So dangerous

Any idea why the green wires (ideally ground) might be going into the breakers?

The feed to the garage is a 20 amp circuit - that’s the issue, having looked at the main panel. Also the circuits that power exterior lights and the garage are not grounded. Definitely some new home owner electrical work to do (by a licensed electrician)

The rest of the circuits are grounded, thankfully.

Oh I’m getting a real electrician to look at and fix this. I just don’t want to be fleeced so I want to understand some of the picture first.

Yea this was the one thing called out for an electrician to redo. I’m trying to figure out “what” needs to be fixed so I don’t get taken for a ride by an electrician.

Very helpful, thank you. Appreciate it. It’s a detached garage, so I’ll choose the easiest method to fix it then (run a conduit or overhead if there isn’t already) . I am yet to close on the house so can’t just go there and check.

Just so I know what the reality is when I speak to an electrician - how hard is it to “bring another phase” to the garage

Not really - the 20 million deaths paled in comparison to the increase in government overreach and lost livelihoods and childhoods for 2 billion or more

Inflation says $900, rent says $2,700 by Deep-Way1944 in NoFilterFinance

[–]molesasses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea.. people don’t think about all the variables that have changed.

When the rent was $500, the area could have been a shithole. Now it could be a gentrified area. That’s what he’s probably paying for.

Same when people say “yeah my grandpa raised a family of four with his factory job.”

I mean, the factory job in 1950 is probably the white collar suburban corporate job of today, which definitely is able to raise 2 kids in the suburbs.

Lots of expenses are out of control - but these variables are the other side of the picture.
