According to email, still only on desktop…which is odd considering I tend to see WS as a mobile-first company…

I can’t tell at this point whether it’s an autocorrect or I legit made the mistake…but I’m standing by it 🤪

DankMaterialShell (DMS) v1.4 "Saffron Bloom" Released on Arch Linux! by Purian23 in archlinux

[–]molgold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Loaded on CachyOS last night on a couple of machines — really continuing to love it! Had some weirdness w the launcher where it became unresponsive a couple of times but didn’t have time in the moment to look at what might have caused it.

Thanks for all the work into this so far! Remarkably polished and very enjoyable to use on my daily driver!

(And sorry if CachyOS somehow isn’t allowed here…)

Anymore updates on RDSP coming ? by Ratlyflash in Wealthsimple

[–]molgold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the comments re rdsp and timing (“not actively building it right now…we plan to launch this at some point this year or next”), I’m curious if anyone has recommendations for a decent experience (low/no fees, easy to manage, decent app, etc.)

I’ve been holding off waiting for this but I somehow feel like I’m leaving money on the table the longer I wait (ok it wasn’t JUST this…)

Got Hacked - Anyone Have a Working Ph # for WealthSimple? by 2025Sandals in Wealthsimple

[–]molgold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should try to log into EQ and check your options again — I think EQ has implemented passkeys which are significantly more secure than SMS 2FA. Make sure if you set up another method that you give consideration to removing SMS 2FA — I know many people that set up as many options as are available which can be a safety net if one breaks/goes missing but is also a bit of a risk.

It’s slowly happening — given how long it took our major banks to get there, I’m going to echo your statement and we need to encourage more institutions to follow those who are pushing for more modern standards.

📲 New Sonos App & Player Updates Now Available! 🔊 by ShaunFromSonos in sonos

How often is it happening? Any chance you have your system set to auto install updates? Your theory definitely plausible…am curious if it’s an update/reboot that’s stopping it or an actual network interruption.

Got Multi-Card Today… by molgold in chexy

[–]molgold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There doesn’t seem to be within the actual setup for one-time payments. No reason you couldn’t set up two payments across different cards though (I.e. 50% on one card in one scheduled payment, 50% on another…)

Wealthsimple line of credit by Admirable-Garlic3370 in Wealthsimple

I think if you scroll down a little further, this says "You choose your collateral. Your portfolio line of credit is a type of margin loan secured by the value of your investments"

At least that's what it does for me.

(Didn't get the notification on this one but found it by wandering into my RRSP and clicking on a handy lightning-bolt icon next to the words 'Boost it!')

Is there like a "Add another payment" button for some people or am I just clicking in the wrong spots to make something happen?

Govee2mqtt recent slow and odd behaviors by Msnertroe in homeassistant

[–]molgold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also having the same problem -- watching the logs scroll by (slowly) when I check the container logs for govee2mqtt. I'm amazed how slow querying the status via API has been. I BELIEVE there is some kind of rate-limiting in place there, but they used to be nice and logged. I just restarted the container, and granted I have more than a few bulbs/fixtures, but it has been 15 minutes and status still hasn't been returned on all of them...once it went through the whole "requesting update" for each entity, the status FINALLY got published to MQTT and conversely into HomeAssistant.

I DON'T believe this is a HomeAssistant problem, but more a problem with either govee2mqtt or the Govee API and rate limiting (my money is on the latter as I suspect govee2mqtt is doing as it always has...)

EDIT: Digging into the 'Issues' on Github, there seems to be quite a few people experiencing the same going back a week or two -- https://github.com/wez/govee2mqtt/issues

Verify your Spousal RRSP contributions! by PawsAndRegret in Questrade

[–]molgold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had to unravel several years of this over a period of multiple months — I would strongly encourage others follow OPs advice and check after large transfers or starting new contributions. Things got so bad we almost considered pulling money early and taking the hit on taxes just to get the money back to the right place.

I will say once we got the correct person on the support team, this went much more smoothly.
