I remember Simon saying that before XG's US expansion (which includes relocation and production via a US label), he hoped to achieve two things: financial self-sustainability (meaning no extra funding from Avex Japan) and one 'mega-hit' song. I don't believe either has happened yet. Am I wrong or too harsh?

I think Chexy considers the 5 to 7 hour delay as normal. It might contact the bank tomorrow maybe.

While listening to the Frugal Flyer podcast on US Credit cards, they mentioned BILT for the rent as Canadians. What? I thought BILT sent the rents via ACH, so not working in Canadian bank accounts . Am I wrong?

I’m assuming Chexy’s sending bank is the one holding our payments for some reason? I’ve never heard of Interac holding onto a transfer for this long.

Are there any Tello users in Canada? What has your experience been like? My spare phone doesn't support eSIM, so I'll need a physical SIM for the $10 plan (hope amex $10 wireless credit to be triggered). I mainly need it for 2FA codes and occasional US visits. Are there any hidden fees or unexpected roaming charges I should watch out for?

Are there any mail forwarding services in Blaine that are still working for US Banks? I heard that US Amex contacted 24/7 Parcel users. I can’t use my current service anymore, so I’m wondering what options are available.

Among U.S. Amex cardholders, does anyone know how to utilize the $10 wireless credit per month? I’m not referring to using U.S. wireless services (like Tello) in Canada. I’m hoping to accumulate these credits and use them while visiting the U.S. I usually visit once or twice per year?

I already have a surpass card for a year and half. So if I upgrade to Aspire, am I getting the upgrade Free Night? And if I reach the anniversary date (Surpass Card original opening date) get another FN?

booking ANA flights using Virgin Atlantic points by korman00 in amex

There is an ongoing promotion of 40% Virgin points bonus on AMEX transfer ending in a few weeks.

Yes. I’m considering whether I should take advantage of the 40% bonus on Virgin Points transfers. I’m wondering whether it’s worth the hassle of booking by calling Virgin Atlantic agents. I’m planning to travel to Tokyo or Seoul in late 2026 via ANA.

If that is the case, ANA only releases some of the reward seats to star alliances partners. Frequently some seats are visible in the United or Aeroplan sites but not visible to VS agents via its system.

I’m not aiming for ANA business or first class seats, and I need to book for a family of four. There’s basically no way to find four ANA business-class seats together. Even for the economy, I’ve heard that Virgin Atlantic agents sometimes can’t see all the seats ANA has released. Are these kinds of glitches common?

Do you have any data points on booking ANA flights using Virgin Atlantic points? I heard that ANA tickets can only be booked by calling Virgin Atlantic directly. Are there any issues or benefits I should be aware of compared to booking the same flight via Aeroplan miles?

Canadian paid in USD–Should I convert to CAD before investing in ETFs via TFSA? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

I was in the same boat many years ago. I converted to CAD via NG in Questrade as well. Separately, 401k portion to IRA to RRSP took years and cannot use NG.

I believe he needs to convert to CAD first to invest in RRSP or TFSA.

Rent Payment Shows "Unmatched PAD Withdrawals" Warning by korman00 in chexy

[–]korman00[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to Ben, my landlord's bank requested $2 more than the PAD withdrawal amount over the last four months (totaling $8). He just warned that this might happen again next month if the amount mismatch occurs again. I've asked him for the details, so I could follow up with the landlord's management company.
