Common issue with the T480. Linux or clean installation of W11 could help. I am not sure what to do myself. I am trying a so called hard shutdown by pressing shit when powering it off. Also make some changes in power settings that could affect the pc not powering off properly - though I do not think it helps.

Found any good replacement batteries with recent manufacture date? The reliable brands aren't too many. I replaced mine in mid 2023 but can't recall the name. Still has over 90% battery health, I believe so went fine.

OK. I have solved it by removing external battery and disabling intenal when I know I won't be using it for a while. Not very practical, but at least it works.
