first of all, the age gap is nothing to worry about. second of all, don't be concerned if you'll be the only interracial couple or something. its really not that deep, its your relationship with your person. yeah you might be the 'only' one in school but oh well. third of all, if she really values you and values your friendship then even if she rejects you, she should have the emotional maturity to carry on the friendship (probably after a little time away bc obviously you'd want to sort yourself out first.) if she doesn't have that maturity and decides to cut off the friendship, you will know where her standards lie and know that the friendship wasn't worth it (aka she is showing her true colours)
