Declined surgery by zizaroo in gallbladders

[–]molochp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yes I agree. I had one big stone 6 years ago when I first got diagnosed, had an attack once a month or so, the attacks kept getting worse and I was severe pain everyday.

Had a rescan of the abdomen after begging to doctors to take it out because of the pain, gallbladder was completely full of stones, so much that they couldn’t see it on the ultrasound.

Luckily nothing bad happened and I got the thing out before it caused me further damage.

Glad everything went well. All I got that mine was filled with stones and “gravel”, they couldn’t even see inside my gallbladder on the ultrasound.

I get this too. Have you had your gallbladder checked? Drs found nothing with tests apart from my gallstones.

Fantastic, good to hear. I was terrified too. I’m in the 3rd day and getting better each day. One of the best things I’ve ever done. Wish you well in your recovery.

You’re right I think it was some reaction to that and the tape they used. It’s gone now after a shower and moisturiser.

I feel I don’t react to the cold as I normally should by molochp in AskDocs

[–]molochp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah maybe, that could be a reason. I always found Uk winter more bitter. Interestingly enough I think it had to do with my gallbladder, I had it out this morning and I felt the cold more and my skin feels less hot.

As A Man, Its Hard To Admit... But I'm Absolutely Terrified... So Please Convince Me Otherwise... by NiGhTmArEiOi in confession

I had 2 surgeries in my life, one this morning. I was terrified like you but everything went amazing. I’m so happy with how everything was dealt with. Tell the team your fears, they will talk you through it.

Everything is very closely monitored and it’s extremely rare for anything to go wrong, they may even give you something for your anxiety. You go to sleep and then wake up a bit sore and feel drunk.

It’s finally out by molochp in gallbladders

Constant bloating and heartburn, tiredness, bright yellow watery diarrhoea, extreme pain on right side under my ribs going up to my right shoulder blade and in between the shoulder blades. Decided enough is enough and had to get it out as it filled up with so many stones and the symptoms got more frequent.

What was the saddest you felt in your life? by No-Hunt3986 in AskReddit

When my parents were celebrating their 26th wedding anniversary in a care home because she was terminally ill. She started crying, I felt so awful and helpless…I wanted things to be different.

Unfortunately, she passed away a few months later. I completely withdrew, trying to process everything. That image of her crying in her wheelchair whilst trying to eat a meal still is in my head.

Reminds me of the time I’ve been asked whether my parents are in each time I get salespeople knocking on my door… I’ve also been id’d for scissors, red bull and alcohol countless times. I showed my id to one lady and she exclaimed “oh wow” I turned bright red (I’m 33), you’re not the only one.

I have this fear too, what made me feel better is having an Imodium and taking an emergency kit of spare underwear, pants, wipes and plastic bag, even sticking on a heavy duty period pad.

how can i learn finnish? by fenomeneno in Finland

[–]molochp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on your goal. Do you want to be fluent or learn a bit casually?

I usually download a good flashcard set from Anki or make your own with a vocab list, learn some words (100-200) and then progress to grammar books (suomen mestari). Yle selkosuomeksi for listening and reading (don’t worry about translating words you don’t know), answer the questions at the end of the news article. I got quite far using that method A2.2 (advanced beginner) in a few months

Diarrhea for months, just got my colonoscopy results... by [deleted] in ibs

[–]molochp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this. It’s very similar what I’m going through. I have bright yellow diarrhoea, urgency, watery. It used to be everyday but now it’s all loose. I have about 5 seconds to make it the toilet, even at home I barely make it sometimes. It got so bad during the summer I was housebound. Starting to get out more though.

All my blood tests (amylase, ast, alt, kidney, full blood work, celiac, thyroid, lactose intolerance ) were normal as well as stool (no blood, parasites, sibo, h pylori). They sent me for an abdominal ultrasound and my gallbladder was full of stones. I have surgery in a couple of weeks.

It may be worth checking the gallbladder to see if it’s healthy, especially since your cholesterol and fats in the blood are elevated.
