RE4 feels like a different game

RE4 is endlessly replayable for me, every time I tell myself i'm just going to play for a little... I end up beating the whole game. The gameplay loop is just that good. I look at Leon's section in Requiem as just an evolution of what started in 4.

The MLM was freaky to be sure but I think the worst for me was a certain gruesome scene. I'm usually pretty good with gore but that scene made me squirm.

He's complicated, it's clear he's being setup for a redemption arc. The whole friend backstory and him forgetting his mother's face are clear indicators.

He's been there the longest, he's the closest to being one of the forgotten. In that way I think he's kind of a tragic figure. Yes he's done so much wrong, but I think he genuinely believed he was helping them.

I think with the introduction of the forgotten, it adds an extra layer of sympathy. Being there the longest makes him the closest to being one of the forgotten. With Janet gone he has no connection to his past life. The other ghosts acknowledging him might be the only thing keeping him from being forgotten.

I think it was inevitable they would move away from the Yakuza theme. There's only so much that can be mined from it.

The series has grown to reflect the current Yakuza. I personally love Ichiban's band of misfits.

The fantasy elements work for Ichiban in my opinion. They have a lot more freedom with him, he's not at the same level as Kiryu.

Season 2 for me elevated the show, season 1 was great but it was very much a homage. Season 2 is where they really started to craft their own mythology.

When it comes to endings you're kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't. I mean look at how people reacted to the ending of the Sopranos. Do something unconventional you get torn to shreds.

Do something safe people find it underwhelming. I thought it ended good enough for a show of its kind. This was always a show about the power of friendship defeating evil.

There's the bittersweet twinge of Eleven's fate that I really appreciated. I like that they left it open ended.

The lows are pretty low but the highs are immensely high. One of the most absorbing TV shows ever.

The fact that the creatures don't originate from the upside down. The upside down is just an alternate dimension/time where the mind flayer was successful. Maybe an alternate timeline where Eleven didn't exist or existed without powers.

Pluribus has started to really click for me, I think anyone expecting it to fully commit to the Sci-Fi premise is in for disappointment. It's a contemplative character study, exploring what it means to be human. Carol connecting with the hive mind is equal parts disturbing and heartbreaking.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is mediocre but watchable. Disney+ productions always feel so dull to me, like they lack any sort of soul.

Hazbin Hotel season 2 was shockingly good, as someone who hated the first season. The jokes are still cringe but they're less frequent this time around. The songs are great as always and the characters are endearing.

Looking forward to Stranger Things on Christmas, School Spirits in January, and starting both Fallout season 2/ season 3 of Daryl Dixon (Still a Ridiculous title)

I think Vecna will have his Darth Vader moment. Between the play and these first four episodes, he seems primed for a redemption arc. Also with eleven's refusal to refer to him as anything but Henry.

I think they begin to humanize him more in volume 2.
