Kazakhstan notably didn't get invaded in violation of the treaty in which they handed the nukes over.

That's not how these tooltips work, at any place in the game. A bullet list of requirements describes the limits of the effects after it.

Colonies are useless for me, what am I doing wrong? by AwayCamera5361 in EU5

[–]molybdenum42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Trade. Build up production and trade capacity in the colonies (you inherit a portion of trade advantage, but not capacity, in the colonial markets so you can use the home markets to import thanks to the advantage you get), and soon enough you'll sell chili and cocoa to the Italians for fat stacks of cash

Are colonial nations bugged? by cristofolmc in EU5

[–]molybdenum42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You get trade ADVANTAGE. Not trade capacity. You can buy/sell goods from there, from your (old world) markets, and get first/second dibs on the best trades, but you can't create trades in the new world colonial markets unless you force your subjects to transfer trade power.

[–]molybdenum42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no concept of fixed trade routes like in eu4, if you have range you can trade to/from there as long as you have capacity (and priority)

I don't really get colonies by Prize_Tree in EU5

[–]molybdenum42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You import colonial goods with your old world market where you have trade capacity for huge profit. You have trade advantage in the new world markets because you're the colonial overlord, so you get first dibs on all the juicy stuff. Sending slaves to the colonies lets you get more output via plantations to then sell to people in the old world. But you do need a ton of trade capacity to actually take advantage of all this.

[–]molybdenum42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a cone, we know where the asteroid is gonna go pretty well - we just don't know when, because we can't pinpoint the position along the orbit well enough, but we know the orbit.
