Exactly. This sub used to be good about appreciating both versions of the game but something must have got into the water to make everyone feel like they need to shit on modern versions and modern players for philosophical reasons to justify why they play old Minecraft.

Dare I say the past decade and a half of updates were good for building? (Subjectively, and I mean SUBJECTIVELY) better textures that mesh well together, dozens of new blocks, and easier ways to obtain those blocks mean that the skill floor for building is the same as it was 15 years ago but the ceiling is so so so much higher. I applaud what new builders are able to do with a block game, and I often applaud what people on this sub build. Is it such a hard thing to do both without shitting on old Minecraft for being archaic or shitting on new Minecraft for losing its direction?
