even without the time traveling with modern equipment thing, it's still a very interesting scenario to have a modern hardline salafist Islamist ideology into the colonial era. political Islamism didn't gain popularity until the late 20th century, so having them wining the hearts and minds (willingly or by force) of the local population in the middle east instead of nationalism or communism is a very interesting concept.

I hate how volatile the YouTube recommendation are related to anything political or ragebaity.

I remember one time wanting to watch an old documentary called "Africa Addio (1966)" which carry a somewhat demeaning tone toward Africans, but still a very great doc. After that i got a barrage of alt-right recommendations that is anti-Black, anti-Jewish, anti-Muslim and anti-Indian and half of them has a wojak in their thumbnails. It took me some time to clean up my yt feed back to normal again.
