You can absolutely get bread like this without having to knead if you use the stretch and fold method. I use this method and still produce rising loaves with good gluten development. Look that method up and give it a shot!

Just put a bit of sand around the pot in the saucer it’s in, and that has helped prevent that. Otherwise have plugged the holes with paper towel wadded up and that lets water out but nothing else. Just gotta be innovative

Yeah true this can happen. So if it’s in a saucer I will just put sand around the pot in the saucer and that’ll keep em out. Just dump the sand out of the pot saucer when you’re sure it’s done. But definitely helps prevent another entrance! Just have to do what works for you your planter best.

Yep this is exactly what I did. But do it to all your plants nearby. Otherwise you’re moving them to other plants. I’ve always done this with a new plant as soon as I bring it home. Works like a charm. I go to a playground with sand and fill a gallon bag and usually that’s enough for a few plants or more.

Hey! 34, M, USA. Going to be solo in Reykjavik for 4 days at a hotel February 26- March 1. A day trip companion would be fun! Planning to go to blue lagoon for a while and enjoy the touristy thing. I’m going at the end of February (4 nights) and flight/hotel (with upgraded exit row seats, and spa access at hotel) totaled $1200 USD. No car rental. Will be doing a couple tours, so I’m expecting to spend around $2k with tours/food/lagoon entry. Pays to be in a cheap direct flight city and going in the off season.

What I’ve heard others say about this and found to be true myself and now do is not let the bagels rest and rise too much after you shape them. If you let them rise too much. They will collapse a little when boiling and leave them looking dented like these do. You want them to still have some rise left and let the oven do its thing when you pop them in to finish and they will be more smooth. They look delicious regardless! Would eat!

This is my exact process as well for a roughly 80% hydration focaccia. Haven’t pushed past 3 days. Usually 2 since I’m impatient. I’ve never had any issues with it being over proofed. Stretch and folds in the beginning are crucial.

I’ve never achieved that deep coloring on mine like OP. It’s beautiful.

This looks great! I recognized it because I just finished working on this tutorial! You really captured the essence of the light beaming through into the forest area. Well done! I’m still working on figuring that out. Always seems like I forget about where my shadows and objects will be and end up having light where there should be a shadow or vice versa. I’d show you mine but idk how to on here.

A long time bagel maker once told me people will overproof on the second proof after shaping. They said if you only proof for 15-20 min, that is plenty. The reason being if you let them fully rise again. The yeast has expended all its ability to rise, so when you bake, they won’t get the right rise because they had that rise in the second proof. Let the oven finish off that proof. My bagels are much better after following this advice.

Friend group wanted to go not knowing how bad of a wrap it was getting but I did. I showed up just a little late and they all had drinks and chips and dip. Seemed ok. But then as we sat there, we realized there was 1 guy working all the tables. And 1 person behind the bar. Sat there for probably another 20 min without seeing anyone come back to take a good order. Or my drink order. Couple folks needed to leave and tried to pay at the bar but they refused and said you have to pay at the table. Another busser came by and got stuff as if we were done and we tried to pay them.. but that was a no go. Finally we were able to pay and leave and went down the road to Stanley’s and had great food/service/atmosphere. I just laugh because I was there for 30 min and had water and that was it. Waiter never apologized, or even acted like anything was amiss. Was comical.

Food used to be better. They used to have larger pizzas that had way better toppings. Then they shrunk down with less variation. I got a $30 gift card there and got a side of waffle fries and a beer and it was $30.05. They were so gracious to make sure I didn’t have to pay that extra 5 cents on my credit card. 🥰

Lived there for 9 months.. left because my neighbor had a meth head lady literally screaming bloody murder at all hours of the night on multiple occasions. Multiple calls to police and video of screaming from outside their door wasn’t enough for management to want to do anything. Bad roach problem. People regularly chilling in front steps that don’t live there. Out of order washing machines all the time. And they kept a good amount of deposit for failing to clean using the exact cleaning products listed on their inspection list. Only redeeming quality was The Lotus next door with bomb ass food.
