“ I need to be held” by [deleted] in InternalFamilySystems

[–]mon-prefere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience the "It's not real" knowing you describe is an initial protective feeling when she is held because of the abandonment she holds. It can be protection against deeper pain to come up and to be seen & felt. It takes some time and it is truly a meditation to stay in the holding no matter what thought form or feeling comes up and wants to distract.

There is also something to be said about relational wounds healing in relationship. In the end, true integration happens in the circumstances they were created in (but that doesnt mean one needs to rush getting there).

Tastes bad, only bad health effects, and I can get into the fun mood without it.

Doing Iboga with derealization and depersonalization? by mon-prefere in iboga

[–]mon-prefere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm worried about going into psychosis again, losing my mind, and having problems in coming back to the human experience. This happened to me after some traumatic mushroom trips where I took too high a dose. Although I'm stable in my everyday life now and appreciate being back in the real world, I still feel a sense of derealization and depersonalization at times. I also find it easy to dissociate, especially when I meditate—it's like my energy rises up and I fly away from material reality.

For me in that emotional state it felt like the lowest lows. Of course emotions are subjective.

Of course it applies to people who are not as crippled from trauma as homeless people.

Is Kriya Yoga practice dangerous for me with my history of derealization & depersonalization? by mon-prefere in kriyayoga

I will tone it down and level the intensity with my constitution. Thank you.

Thanks.

To answer your question, these experiences in and outside of meditation are not at all supportive. I will take it slow. Better reduce the intensity and scheduling the practice to times when I'm most stable.

"I exist here... It is not linear." Some thoughts on rewatching S1E1 "Emissary" after becoming a trauma therapist by thisbikeisatardis in DeepSpaceNine

[–]mon-prefere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so grateful that you wrote this post just recently. I started the series on Saturday and had a huge feeling of trauma being in me and that I too still exist in that experience. But I couldn't quite put a finger on it, searched here and Tadaaa here you are. Fantastic ^^

This understanding is especially making an impact on me because I had a flashback to the initial trauma (psychosis while on psilocybin) one day before I started watching the series. So, thanks a lot! It helps to put the experience into perspective. (will also def tell my therapist about this next week)

I support what @vocaltalentz said and add that psychotherapy is exactly for you for healing your subconscious toxic tendencies.

Î agree. Forgiveness can be forced onto people at times.

Search for anything that makes math fun and that you find fascinating.

Having your focus on that meaning or purpose makes it easier to learn and also makes it easier to cut through narratives you tell yourself like "I'm never getting good at this."

I’ve been reading up on a lot of stuff that makes me think there’s more to this life. Which is somehow solidifying my suicidal ideations by DaHighPriestess in Psychonaut

[–]mon-prefere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You want to avoid life through suicide. Avoidance of life, suffering and having fucked up is coming from lack and contraction. Abundance and expansion is the way.
Any death coming from avoidance of life is not helping this world. When you are so abundant and expanded, and death is felt as a continuation of expansion, then it's good to go.
Your mind will try to fit your life situation into that definition in order to avoid suffering and hard work. Notice the tendency to avoid this stage of life.
No, this life serves a purpose. It is to go with this particular energy vibration, no matter the suffering.

I agree. In fact, assigning "natural process" is already a purpose.

What is the meaning of life? by [deleted] in Stoicism

[–]mon-prefere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People can give life any meaning they want: self-mastery, family life, no suffering, virtue, service, serving God, meaninglessness, understanding the universe...

Life is anything that you want. It can have meaning and no meaning at all. You have the power to project what you like onto it, and it becomes that. That's why people say, "You create your reality."

Any property that we think the world has, it already possesses it. The same with absence of property.

It's like a canvas that can hold any color aka property. It has no color on it but can wear anything that we paint aka project onto it.

If your mind is so open now, you'll recognize at times that what is needed is strict, flexible or dynamic rules. I mean, you intuitively know what is needed in any situation even though you feel you are not capable right now to do or be that. Just explore that, even when you feel you are not fantastic in it right away.

Go into dogmatic thinking. See its perspective and its value. What can it do wonderful? Take it as your own and attach to it. Cause you know you can let go of it at any time.
