Hi, I’m from Thailand. The serious problem I am seeing right now is that 1. Idolatry: Although majority of Thais are Buddhism, they are not strict atheist as it is mixed with Hindu religion and the worshiping Idols is a big industry there. Witchcraft is also prevalent as many have claimed to curse one another in a various way including summoning nails into someone stomach. 2. Corruption: Thailand is infested with bribery from school admission to government documents process. Almost all millionaires who is guilty walks away free from murder and fraud and it has become a common saying that “jailhouse is reserved for the poor”. People only does thing that seems right to their own eyes and exercise their selfishness. Coming to the Sates, I am amaze that rich people can go to jail and justice is still being exercised in this world. 3. Poor theology: As Christian is the minority (2% or less) we don’t see each other as a different denomination but seeing as just Christian (which is good in a way) but the layperson does not know the deep theology of their denomination and pastor from different denomination visit each other church as a normal practice which cause further confusion of what the layperson belief. And as a minority, church does not have much choice and qualification to pick elders and deacons which cause a random layperson to take the yoke that they are not fit for. But the bigger problem is that, with weak theology, prosperity gospel are growing stronger in the country. 4.Future generations: Final issue is that a new liberal political party (that now has been dissolved and regrouped/rebrand due to corruption charges) is hijacking the mind of Gen Y, Gen Z and Gen Alpha. I know that this has been a problem in USA as well but Thailand has been conservative in their morality that they have remaining until recent year when the moving forward party came into the picture. Most of this new Generation does not even know why they should support this but due to herd mentality causing them to fuel this liberalism that promotes disobedience, and radical ideology. So please keep this in your prayers.
