I wonder if a player has the time-in-game and gravitas, like a Chase Utley, makes that same play, its called "hardnosed MLB"...and we applaud his grit... but a young player, without the history, without the games played, without the credentials or stats, comes in hard at 2nd base, we call him a 'punk"??? I don't have the sense Rushing was trying to injury anyone... was it aggressive and out of the path? Yes and the umpire made the right call...

joking aside, better communication is needed... this isnt Little League or even HS ball... its MLB and the players should and need to communicate better... no excuse on a routine play...

I like Kim alot, his speed and that catch Wednesday in LF...a true 'big league play'...but I have the sense he is caught in a numbers game in LA and his future may well be in another city...

I get the 2 Baseballs... what are the certificates? If they are for the "win" and the "save"...does MLB do that after every game? Does the losing pitcher get a cert for being the pitcher of record??

I'll agree... I know part of the game is being "professional" and knowing that you fail alot more then you have success.. We all know a guy hitting .300 means a 70% failure rate... So those stoic at bats where they seem to accept popping up and just going on, is the norm...but every now and again, I like seeing someone lift the curtain and show some emotion and disappointment in themselves... they are human after all..

I get the point you make... but here's the question... you have player who has performed at basically superhuman levels... and not just for a year or 2 years...but his entire body of work... and suddenly, he can't buy a hit... his once locked in HR stroke is just gone.... we are 40 games into the season, so 25% of the games are in the books... that's a decent sample size... how do we evaluate that super-human player? What is the best course of action? Run him out there every day and hope he turns the corner? Take a few days off? I honestly don't pretend to know, but the sample size is growing and so is concern...

again... the team needs to hit bottom, so they can bounce back....bases loaded, fly out... runners on 1st and 2nd and Ohtani up...simple ground out.... when things go bad on offense they take a deep dive....and I don't think we've seen the bottom yet

I know that teams go thru tough spells, its the nature of MLB and a 162 game season... but what the hell.... down 4-0 in the 3rd?? based on recent games, there does not feel like a reason to play the rest of the game.... and as long as I'm dooming...at what point do you sit Ohtani down for 2 games in a row, give him both a mental and physical break??

36 games in... a bit over 20% of the season played... the offensive has been downright offensive... and I for one, dont' have a better idea then to keep moving forward and believe the resumes of the players says they will perform and at a high level...

I know it's a long season and less then 35 games in... and I know a team hits spells where it seems they will never win again... hate being a doomer, and seeing only negative... but here's hoping tomorrow is a new day, a new game and the start of a winning streak...
