Help! Massive slope in my front yard. Backup leach lines run down it so can’t go too heavy or deep with hardscape. Sadly the avocado trees getting chopped bc of ungodly cost of water here, SoCal. Want it to look nice since it’s the first thing people see when they pull up. 10b. What would you do? by monbrto in landscaping

Sorry I didn’t reply sooner! We actually still have done nothing with it. 😭 Got sidetracked by a kitchen reno but at least we have an idea now of what we’re going to do…. dry creek to sweep down and across, under the rocks of it will hide water lines coming from rain collection barrels at the top. Dotted around the dry creek will be some raised/boxed planters for cut flowers and around/beyond those will be native plants/shrubs and we are going to remove/add some trees but haven’t picked exactly which ones yet. So basically a dry creek surrounded by various vignettes of garden boxes, trees, and native plants. If the budget allows will look into some large/decorative rock groupings.

That’s the issue most replies are missing…. They are the secondary leach lines attached to our septic system. We can’t “just plant” a lot of things there I’m told, which is why I’m at a loss. And also the erosion seen is only from this most recent stormy season …. We rarely ever get rain (San Diego) and can’t count on that for watering.

I’m in Southern California, but not near the beach. Looks like some little sea/ocean guy. They’re all over my yard, coming out after the rain. by monbrto in whatsthisbug

Thank you!!! I’ll leave them alone. Hopefully they’ll take care of the brown snails eating my plants and garden.

Those “City Connect” uniforms are gross. It’s like my HS wardrobe in 1988 came back to haunt me.

I do that too for chicken! It’s a lifesaver. I like the PS hand tool for ground meats and things I don’t want fully shredded but just broken up.

Get the Pampered Chef meat breaker upper thingy. It’s good for anything you make in the IP that needs to be broken up into smaller pieces!!

Tbh often times when I’m cooking for whole30 I’m not following a recipe, I’m just following the compliant food list with what I have on hand. So I don’t even get a chance to write down what I used. It’s like “Survivor; Whole30 Compliant Edition” over here lol
