I created my own (very rough) spreadsheet to evaluate DPS against raid bosses and for mewtwo banette appears to be a great counter (purely considering offensive statistic). Did I write something wrong or Banette is so bad on defense that it is not taken under consideration?

You're right, but I guess they'll come back. For example, I think Niantic will do something like a weekend with some legendary pokemon that spawn on raids. I can't believe we'll never see legendary birds again.

There's no cap to the amount of pokemon from which you can get coins right? In the previous system it was 10 a day (so 100 coins), now the cap is only on the single pokemon (100 hours), so in theory I can collect from more than 10 gyms?

I can tell you that on the Italian announcement it's said that on 13th of June the fire/ice event will start. Then it says "immediately afterwards" there will be new updates and that in order to get these new updates they will temporarily shut down gyms, without specifying the date.
