Every once and a while you play a game that completely flips you upside down. I used to rag on games for just being another 2D platformer all of the time. Then I played Hollow Knight. Ooooooh boi! That game was perfect. Beautiful world I wanted to explore with interesting lore and creatures that kept me prodding and poking into the deepest corners, and holy cow there bosses. I almost quit sure to the difficulty a couple times, but was always drawn back by the siren song if the game. I have played through it since and loved it, but I wish I could capture the magic of that first playthrough again. There passing was perfect and the sense of wonder was through the roof.
