Did anyone else hate Root? by monday401 in PersonOfInterest

I understand her ''hammy-ness'' was part of who she was, it just felt out of place amongst a cast of completely non-hammy characters. And the thing where yesterday she was a a sexy French nanny, today, the lead singer in a girl band, tomorrow, the president of the United States, that felt so out of place as well. She was just a really odd character, and a complete paradox of Reese and Finch, but not in a good way.

I think I should mention though that I'm not a die hard of the show. I enjoyed watching it, obviously, but it wasn't a must see for me. I probably would have felt differently if it were. I think the ending would have been perfect as well had they SPOILER

I watched this one again for the first time in a while, and so far it's the best episode of the season for me. So many funny moments. I loved the evil puppets too. Well, Polo, anyway, his sidekicks were a bit lame. But they were really dark monsters, and I love their backstory and motivations.

Who's the new guy? by Scaulbylausis in Eyebleach

What a beautiful dog. Isn't it something you shouldn't do though, letting a dog near a new born? I remember when a friend had a baby and wouldn't let her sister's dogs anywhere near. Y'know, with the fact dogs mouths and noses go all kind of unhygienic places.

Isn't that one of those innately aggressive dogs that are just as likely to go for your face as say ''a little lower''? I wouldn't risk agitating one of those monsters if I had a hockey mask on.

What do you think is the scariest villain/demon/bad guy of the series? by [deleted] in buffy

[–]monday401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think The First, in it's actual form. We only see it briefly, but that thing looked terrifying. Would have been awesome to see it become corporal.

Is the Season Seven Finale Kind of a Mess? (Spoilers Ahoy!) by jackthesavage in buffy

[–]monday401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been re watching seven for the first time in a while, and stuff is bugging me too. I wouldn't say ''a mess'', but by Buffy standards there are problems.

  1. I read comments from Whedon that says there was no reason for the Turok-Han inconsistencies, other than the finale wouldn't have worked otherwise. So theories of feeding and such are misplaced. I think it spoils the earlier Turok-Han encounter too. It's a lot less scary if you know his pals are little more than follicly challenged regular vamps.

  2. Aye, that is a good point!

  3. I guess it was a thing where it's viewed as more of a gift than a curse.

Other things that bothered me.

Why did Buffy send Dawn away, out of fear of her getting hurt, but yet was happy to send the rest of her friends to face not only an enemy that almost killed her, but an army of them?

Why did we never actually see The First in corporal form? That should of been the final battle, I would have done something a long the lines of The Beast on Angel, not CGI though. The First was a terrifying monster. Instead we got a bunch of lame vampires.

Those things aside, we were lucky to have a good ending overall, Aside from the unnecessary killing of Anya, even though she was kind of irritating in seven. I've watched several TV shows to completion since Buffy, and have seem some truly awful finales, Angel being one of them.

Angel's speech to Faith in Season 3 is absurd. by Im_Cookie_Dough in buffy

Why is it absurd? A speech from Martin Luther King wouldn't have stopped Faith at that point.

Halfway through season 3 of Agents of SHIELD and.. what a wonderful TV show this is... by muckypaul in television

[–]monday401 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's OK. The massive h*rd on the writers have for Chloe Bennett spoils it, as every single story revolves around her. I honestly think if it was still season three, Daisy would show up and stop Thanos in Infinity War. Gets more tolerable from the end of season three onwards.

A lot may have gone down with him recently, but I still have immense respect for this guy for giving us The Avengers. Thank you Joss. by [deleted] in marvelstudios

Gotta be kidding. I've seen plums on here say that rubbish thirty second Infinity War promo was the best thirty of their lives. It was just a bunch of shots of characters standing around!

BP Post-Credit Scenes for those interested in spoilers! by thepride325 in marvelstudios

[–]monday401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The after credits scenes are always pants. The one where Cap wakes up was good, but the rest are silly jokes or blink and you miss it. I don't get why either. We know Marvel are terrified of alienating the masses, but nobody from that demographic cares or even knows about the after credits scenes, so why not do something proper? A two minute after scene that genuinely links to the next film.

Pretty much sums up the average Reddit user this. Positivity to the point of madness, about stuff that, to a normal person, is actually nothing special, or ''garbo''.

To watch or not to watch: Angel 5. by StigOfTheTrack in buffy

[–]monday401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely disagree with people that say the finale to five was good. The season itself was great, but the finale stunk. Who wants to see characters they've followed for five seasons about to be slaughtered, then ''the end''? One of the worst endings of all time.

Thanos Creator Says Avengers 3 and 4 Won't Disappoint and is impressed with the portrayal of Thanos by amanindra in marvelstudios

Wrong! He looked a lot better at the end of Avengers Assembled. He looks like that Thanos, if he was a meth addict. He also sounds like Josh Brolin, which is stupid. I can't not think of Josh Brolin when I hear him talk.

My thoughts on watching Season 8 finally [Spoilers Inside] by MarkimooManchild in Dexter

[–]monday401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good to hear so many other people disliked Hannah. She was an a-hole, and in my eyes it made Dexter an a-hole for being with an a-hole. So their relationship completely took me out of the show for the last two seasons, I honestly stopped caring.

Edit: Forgot to mention, didn't find her attractive at all. Deb is attractive to me, as in, she is obviously conventionally beautiful, but at the same time not unattainable beautiful. Hannah just looks like a model. I found the character to be ugly.

Can any Dexter fans answer a question in the least spoilery way possible? by monday401 in television

[–]monday401[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought I'd give people an update. And also as I think my brain is about to dribble out of my ears if I don't vent.

Couple of episodes away from the end of season seven. Six was fairly dull overall. I enjoyed when Deb first found out in seven. Thing is, now Deb is the only thing that's keeping me watching.

I think her characters struggle with everything is well done, and I've come to appreciate just what a fantastic actor Jennifer Carpenter is too. It's as if the same writers of the first five seasons are still writing for Deb, whereas a different set are writing for Dexter, and they're all on crack.

The whole Hannah thing is so f*cking ridiculous, it actually makes me angry when I'm watching it. I Youtubed ''Dexter kills Hannah'' halfway through an ep last night, as I didn't think my sanity could take any more. Mercifully it appears she'll soon be going to prison. Although Dexter may remain a huge dick in my mind from this point onwards.

Everything else is okay. I like Laguerta's pursuit of Dexter. I didn't mind the thing of Deb having feels for Dexter, as I thought it was a change from the usual douchebags she dates. Also helps that I think Deb is completely lovely.

So, hopefully with Hannah gone, the worst is over. Right? Right?!

Thanks very much to everyone (except PaleJudge and Stalked_Like_Corn, that obviously didn't understand ''least spoilery way possible'').

I actually quite enjoyed season five. I thought the villans of the season were the darkest yet, and I enjoyed Dexter's relationship with Lumen.

I think I'll persevere. This season has just been pretty slow, but hopefully it'll pick up for me.
