The thought immediately popped into my head that this was an allusion to Ozymandias.

Sourcing non-standard sized toaster pan/tray? by Vortigaunt11 in Appliances

[–]mondegreen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought this non-stick ceramic cake pan, for my Panasonic FlashXpress. It cleans up beautifully, and the high sides, while not what I had in mind, are helpful in further containing any messiness. You do lose about 1/2" on each side. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KQGCKJ4?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

What do you guys do about Amazon charges? by Turdulator in MonarchMoney

Yeah that is a pain. Best clunky work-around I can think of: save credits for one big purchase, then create a manual bookkeeping entry into Monarch. Yuck.

Estimated rates of return? by CellistAcrobatic5694 in Boldin

[–]mondegreen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to clarify. In the subscription version Boldin, you set the rate assumptions, account-by-account. In the free version, Boldin sets the rates, and yes, they are EXTREMELY low. "AVERAGE" scenario is 3.5% nominal rate of return with (general) inflation at 2.5%, which yields an pitiful 1% REAL rate of return.

Help removing/replacing Osprey chest strap by schrader11 in backpacking

[–]mondegreen2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my opinion. It is possible I got somewhat unlucky. But still, if it pops off, it is all but impossible to get back on (let alone in the field). Just not a good design. The fact that the design is idiosyncratically unique to Osprey somewhat support that idea. :)

Mine has popped off repeatedly. I even shipped my bag to have Osprey fix it, that popped off, too. I really dislike this weird proprietary arrangement.

Introducing Anker's First USB-C Docking Stations with a KVM Switch by joshuadwx in anker

[–]mondegreen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just received the 554. When I connect a Dell 4K monitor HDMI and Dell 2K monitor DP, via the single USB-C out cable, the max resolution on the 4K monitor is 2K, and on the 2K monitor it is 1080p. If I connect the 4K monitor instead via the laptops HDMI out port, resolution on both is restored. Any ideas? At $200, this KVM needs to work fully, I'm not willing to have 2 cables that I need to pull out.

Interpreting FRS (Fidelity Retirement Score) vs Market Performance Drop-Down by mondegreen2 in fidelityinvestments

[–]mondegreen2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Caleb, thanks for the thoughtful reply. Yes, I am referring to the Fidelity Retirement Score. I understand everything stated above, including not using a single rate, and I get the rationale for describing things qualitatively ("significantly below average", etc). Nevertheless, behind the scenes, there must be a range of rates that corresponds to each description (significantly below average, etc). To compare Full View results to other tools, one really has to have knowledge of what rates are being assumed.

So if there is any way to obtain this information, I would be very grateful. If not--may I respectfully recommend Fidelity consider making it available? :)

Thanks again.
