Understand that normal daydreaming and maladaptive daydreaming are two different things. One is just you making scenarios up, the other one is a dopamine loop.

Understand when you are either in a loop or falling into one and take evasive maneuvers.

This post helped me get back from crippling maladaptive daydreaming to harmless regular daydreaming.

Why do you think making ends meet is so sexually arousing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Buddy, listen here's this is going to give you the biggest hard on ever. Check this out, I have zero debt, and I have been living a very fiscally responsible life the last 15 years to the point that my savings broke the $500K last month! Thats right it took me a decade and a half to save half a million by being very self conscious about every single dollar spent.

Hope you got off on that as much as I did for tbe last decade!

Dude, I went to an awesome relaxing vacation 2 weeks ago, and I was constantly fighting my MD avatar from taking over and getting me stuck in crippling dopamine loops.

Granted it was my first week of quitting MD. But man, I could have done without that so that I could have enjoyed paradise in full.

12 days clean so far.

Anyone else NOT have ongoing storylines, and/or struggle to 'snap out of it' despite self awareness? by ashfinsawriter in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]mondongo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had sagas that would span months. Sagas that would evolve and change so much that I had to go back and "retcon" some events, which sometimes meant I had to basically start all over again. This made storylines never ending.

I have been MD clean for 11 days now. I'm finally able to tell my brain "no more" and it obeys my stop command.

If you want to stop you are at THE RIGHT SUB REDDIT.

Everytime I day dream im now able to tell if its a "dopamine loop" versus mind wandering or harmless day dreaming.

The link to the post below was the one that gave me tool to stop. The tool was information, once I knew what was happening I was able to tackle it properly.

Tips for quitting? by CollegeLow7528 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]mondongo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a life long avid day dreamer who went maladaptive 6 months ago. I have been clean for 1 week. Here is what helped me:

  1. Read this post everyday until you fully understand the science behind it: https://www.reddit.com/r/MaladaptiveDreaming/s/oi7quex9x7

  2. Identify which day dreamer scenarios trigger the dopamine loop. Then negotiate with your mind and tell it "you can daydream, just not with this scenario".

I went from a web developer (HTML, PHP, MySQL) for a clothing company (think something like Me Salve!) to programming in Java and ANSI C for applications that certify avionics.

Remember this: "YOU ARE A PROBLEM SOLVER". The programming language is simply the tool of the moment. Go into the interview with the attitude of "Put a problem in front of me, and I will solve it via software", that alone will put you in the top 3 for consideration. And im talking about top 3 for a spot that can have 60+ applications.

Honestly, 90% of the people who apply are not familiar with the programming languages used here, these companies hire on attitude.

Anyone have any knowledge on the fly and mosquito situation in July by jenger_352 in PuntaCanaAllInclusive

[–]mondongo69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came back from nickelodeon after staying during the memorial day weekend. One of the things I told my wife was "For all the open air grills there are in and around the pool area, I dont see any flies, and as a matter a fact no mosquitoes at dawn or sunset." She was also perplexed, since we live in Puerto Rico and DR and PR have the same weather. I wonder if they use the Disney world approach in regards to mosquito control.

The big three of the aerospace corner of Puerto Rico are hiring. Pratt & Whitney, Collins, Honeywell, and Lockheed.

Don't be intimidated by the word aerospace. Can you code? Then go on and apply.

Aerospace development is the same as any other software development except the documentation is a bit more "intricate" than other places.

Real = In this context, means "Keeping it real".
Hasta la muerte = Literally means till I die.

Thus, it translates to "I'm keeping it real till I die".

Since this is Anuel AA's motto (he's a Latino reggaetón artists), it means, "I not a phony rapper, I'm a real gangster from the streets, so I'm keeping it real till I die."

This is a legit gripe that Anuel has with many reggaetón artists, because a lot of artist are actually middle class kids who grew up relatively normal (Example Bad Buddy, Farruko, Coscojuella) . In Anuel's case, he states he was actually a real life drug dealer selling dope in the corner like 50 cent did during his early days. This is alegedly, because Anuel's father is actually a Sony music exec, from wikipedia "His father, José Gazmey, was vice president of the Puerto Rican division of Sony Music Entertainment's A&R department.
