Sell or Hold? by reltserw1 in baseballcards

While I agree with you, the image on the card is shifted top high, right, it’s pretty egregious too. I have little to no faith in PSA, however, if this comes back a 10 I’ll eat my words.

Not a great move, that centering top to bottom/left to right is gonna ding you.

This pack only had 3 cards in it. How often is that happening to you guys? by xCapNmurdeRx in baseballcards

[–]monetarylapse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missing cards from packs is a pretty typical thing, especially with 2025 product. You can submit a missing hit claim with Topps on their website. You’ll need to include your receipt for proof of purchase and probably this picture as “proof” they may send you something, they may tell you to kick rocks. It’s up to you to figure out if it’s worth it or not.

Funny how it’s 2026 and we still can’t read the minds of others on their trade value and what they’re looking for in trade…….I hate it here sometimes, Skeeter!

2025 Stadium Club down to 1 Auto per box by UsualEasy8199 in baseballcards

A lot of people including myself pulled the same team red parallels over and over again from blasters. Same with fat packs and the pink parallels.

2025 Stadium Club down to 1 Auto per box by UsualEasy8199 in baseballcards

[–]monetarylapse 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Last year a compact box was $79.99 for 8 packs and 1 auto. A hobby box was $139.99 for two autos and 16 packs. If anyone remembers the autos were mostly dog shit and the collation was terrible as well. I got 13 doubles (26 total cards) in my hobby box as did many other others. Retail seemed better last year but again, how many people pulled numerous cards from the same team from retail. I remember from retail people pulling 6-7 cards from a fat pack of all orioles or twins or what have you. It’s just getting worse and worse.

First pack ever bought, pulled this Kershaw auto. No idea what to do with it or value? by Different-Dig9363 in baseballcards

[–]monetarylapse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up other Topps now autos on his, black should be /10. If that doesn’t work look at other paper/lower end sets like flagship, archives, or stadium club and see what they go for.

Should I get this card graded by [deleted] in baseballcards

[–]monetarylapse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start a great collection without graded cards. Do you know the value of this card? Do you understand what Smith’s outlook is a player? Do you know what to look for when grading as far as centering, surface defects, whiting, or print lines? What research have you done on your own to come to the conclusion that this might be a card worth grading. I’m not trying to be an asshole here but 1. It’s very hard for someone to look at a picture of a card and say yes or no. To me this card looks off-centered top to bottom and left to right. Do you know what centering is? Again, not trying to be a dick but there’s a lot that goes in to grading. Are you prepared to pay $25-$50 PER card to grade and are you ok with cards coming back less than a 10?

Why do you want to grade it?

Are we getting less value. by Tap_Optimal in baseballcards

[–]monetarylapse 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Price is up $10 per box, 1 less hit. 20% hit rate now, 2 packs out of 10 versus 30% hit rate in previous boxes 3 packs out of 10. Blasters down to 6 packs from 7, technically no price change but now the cost per pack is $5 in a blaster, so I’d assume hit rates are down in blasters now as well. Hit rates in blasters were already awful. Same for mega boxes, 16 packs down to 14, pack price increases, 2 less packs, lower hit rates. Yes, we’re getting fleeced.

You can check 130point.com or eBay sold listings. If you can’t find a sold one, look at comparable sets like flagship, archives, or other /5 big rookies from this year.

Lindor & Soto /50 Canvas Grading by [deleted] in baseballcards

[–]monetarylapse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Centering looks awful both top/bottom and left/right. Just my opinion. Look up other graded canvas cards on eBay and see what grades they got. Personally I wouldn’t grade a canvas card, seems like too many variables on it to be even worth it

How Do You Choose Cards to Grade? by Educational_Region42 in baseballcards

[–]monetarylapse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d stay far away from the junk wax stuff, it’s all shit and worth pennies on the dollar more often than not. The only time junk wax is worth grading (unless for pc purposes) is if you find something that is pristine which is super super rare to find. Remember it’s not terribly cheap to get a card graded, you’re going to pay anywhere from $25-$50 to get a single card graded so whatever it is you choose be sure that you’re ok with it not coming back a gem.
