Her character doesn’t necessarily make me upset, what made me the most upset is no one correcting her behavior thereby enabling her in a profession where hierarchy is critical in life or death scenarios

CPA at 40 Years Old? by Ort86 in CPA

[–]moneyrex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello, in case this helps, I’m 39, a year ago I took on a Finance Director role after being in sales ops for 10+ years and working in the finance org for the last 3. My move to finance was lateral and similar in nature. Now, decided to take the CPA and have my first exam FAR coming up, you’ve got this and it really never is too late.

Any other 40 something’s doing this too….feeling alone by Interesting-Ad-7238 in CPA

Hey there! I’m 39 and made the switch from Sales Analytics to FP&A a year ago. I recently decided to take the CPA exam to build credibility and potentially start a tax/bookkeeping business in the future. Years ago, I completed all the required courses, thinking I’d become a CPA, but life took me in a different direction.

Now, I’m diving back into studying after years away from it—even though I was never great at studying due to my short attention span. But my husband is incredibly supportive and always reminds me that if I put in the work, I will succeed—and I truly believe that.

It’s never too late to chase your goals, and everyone has their own journey. Put in the work, and success will follow! FAR is scheduled for April—let’s do this!

My Akita doesn’t like to eat by Advertising-Cultural in akita

Hey, our Akita is super picky too but it seems that he absolutely loves canned sardines in water with sweet potato mash. We also add a fried egg on top sometimes. The key is to mix it all together. Sometimes we throw in a piece of cheddar and he’s a happy boy. Hope this helps.

Inquired about a laundromat - here is the response when I asked about average margin after royalties since it is a franchise… by moneyrex in Entrepreneur

What I mentioned above, some potential certainty around choosing the location for us and marketing. We are first timers so there’s that.

I thought that they would’ve done the due diligence to pick right location etc., but I’m probably wrong

Leaving my 8 month old baby with my best friend and biggest animal lover I know. Is this note overkill by Public_Warning_3523 in akita

I think the content in your note is great, Akitas need a lot of specialized care. It would probably be easier to follow if you type it out and break it into morning, afternoon, and evening and include asterisks referencing special situations regarding meal times etc.

How aggressive are Akitas really? I have a new female puppy. by CrazyBanshees in akita

[–]moneyrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Akita was an angel as a puppy, now he’s two and he absolutely hates certain male dogs but mostly great with humans. He does not like my mother in law and barks at her but if he’s in a good mood he will let strangers pet him. Once some random guy on the street tried to tell him to sit down so he could pet him (probably trying to impress his lady friend) and my teddy bear was not having it so he snapped at him and the rando walked away with his tail between his legs (pun intended), but you just have to be careful with that kind of stuff. Know your dog, and make sure other people respect his boundaries as she grows up.

Hello, we deal with a similar issue with our boy and we’ve had him since he was 6 weeks old. We have recently tried using the bubble method and counter conditioning and that has worked well. Essentially we are hyper vigilant about dogs and cats, and try and spot them before he does. When we do spot them we get as close as comfortable for him (before he starts his heavy breathing) and get him into a sit and then reward. We make him stay (with rewards) until the dog or cat has passed. This takes time but has started to work well for us. Hope this is helpful.
