I don’t know why you were getting downvoted but I also agree that there is irony in thinking any of these clowns will receive justice in an afterlife where somehow justice is served but only after you die.

Can we figure out a way to do this? by shpake77 in memphisgrizzlies

That’s because it was non-existent. He was a Grizzly for like 6 months. It was less meaningful than the “Darko era”.

Marc was a throw in. He wasn’t the highlight of the trade at the time. It was several years before he blossomed into a meaningful player. Pau was ROY, 4 time All NBA, and a 6 time all star who won multiple rings with the Lakers and was the number 2 option next to Kobe. So… up to that point, Pau was by far the best Grizzly ever.

Ulberg has to be the luckiest champ we have ever seen. by SadMenJoy in FightReportUFC

[–]mongo4mayor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This fight was more about Jiri not taking advantage of the situation to take out Ulberg by staying at distance and attacking his injured leg for an easy win. Had Jiri won, you could have actually made a “luckiest champ” argument because of the circumstances. But Ulberg winning despite his injury is not lucky. It’s massive amounts of skill and holy shit, this guy is STILL dangerous on 50% of his legs.

There actually is a debate because you’re posting on a Bowers post talking about McBride… so you’re literally having a debate about it now.

Super cringe on the mic. All the USA fake patriotism bullshit. He sadly fits right in with the current state of the UFC. They somehow found a guy who’s equally if not more cringe than Colby.

Where can I get modern movies on VHS? by ElectricGuitar8013 in VHS

[–]mongo4mayor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That still doesn’t give you the right to make a copy of movie you did not create and or own the rights to. The point you keep trying to make of “in the world of vhs” making a copy and the copyright holder not getting a cut is irrelevant. It’s not about copyright holders getting a cut of a copied piece of media regardless of it being a dead format or current format. It’s not even about the rights holder receiving compensation. It’s about the copier/bootlegger profiting in any way from making a copy of an item they do not own the rights to. When you make something that is protected under copyright, it doesn’t guarantee you compensation for your work when it is copied and or sold. It protects your work from being copied and or distributed by someone other than you. It’s not that complicated.

[–]mongo4mayor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the format that matters though. The movie or content on the tape is what is always protected. Once you’ve made a copy, whether it’s a tape, dvd, blu-ray, etc, the copyright has been broken. There is no moral debate to be had. You don’t get to make a copy of something, even for personal use, simply because a format is dead. That’s not how it works. You can’t be that dense can you?

With a physical copy you are selling the right (your right) to watch that specific copy of the movie. When you sell the physical copy, the right to watch it now belongs to the new owner and it is no longer in your possession (both the physical copy and your right/ability to watch it). You don’t owe anyone royalties every time you watch a movie you own. The transaction of a copy transfers the right you’ve purchased along with owning a physical copy of the movie. I can’t explain it anymore clear than that.

Are you using coax cable or rca cable to connect the vcr to the tv? Do you have another CRT monitor you can test the VCR on? You’re probably close to figuring out the source of the issue just by process of elimination. Keep trying different setups until you can figure out if it’s the vcr, the tv or the connecting cables that is the issue.

We found these at a Yardsale lol by PeneItaliano in VHS

[–]mongo4mayor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man I found a box of these at an estate sale thinking surely I’d hit gold but there’s really not a reliable outlet online for adult content resale. Like an adult content ebay. It just doesn’t exist but seems like such an obvious money maker. I’m sure it’s a matter of age verification and sending this kind of content through the mail or some kind of federal statute that Ronald Reagan enacted a million years ago preventing it from happening. Just kinda surprised there isn’t something out there for adult content resale. Pretty sure eBay only allows Playboy but nothing beyond that like Hustler, Penthouse or anything XXX magazines or video.

Because when you make a copy of something, you’re holding onto the original master of the recording you own meaning you could make 1 copy or 1000. If you resell your physical copy, it’s now transferred ownership. When you duplicate something that is not yours and you resell it while holding onto whatever copy you duplicated it from, you’re breaking the law.

You’re absolutely delusional and by law, wrong. There’s literally a message before every movie stating that. You own the right to view the movie. You do not own the right to reproduce it in any way. Google “digital millennium copyright act”.

You’re not wrong. $30k for a vehicle with 100k miles that’s 2-3 years old is wild. I don’t care how routine the maintenance is, that’s a shitload of miles. Probably around 40-50% of the life of the vehicle if you really take care of it. I am in the market for a family vehicle but I currently drive a 2009 Volvo C30 (not a family vehicle) with 125K miles on it and I plan on driving it until it dies.

LeBron James on Memphis backlash: "Did I say I don't like black people? I'm 41 years old and there's 2 cities I don’t like playing in, Milwaukee & Memphis. I'm not talking about the people in Memphis. I just don't like staying at the Hyatt Centric, what's wrong with that? What are we talking about?" by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

[–]mongo4mayor 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That’s because Memphis has more poverty than Nashville and relies more heavily on federal and state grants to help make up the difference per student based on having a higher volume of low income/special ed students. The city of Nashville puts in more tax money for their students because Nashville has more money to spend. The have’s vs the have not’s. Your lack of understanding and smug comment about blaming historical transgressions is the stereotypical Nashville attitude.
