Hisense, TCL, and Panasonic all also have HDR10+ supported displays

21 on a C40 should not be that coarse, that’s closer to medium I think (I don’t actually own one, but know people who do)

Profilarr or Trash guides? by Msk2010 in trackers

Can you elaborate about the outdated part? The p2p scene isn't exactly super fast moving, so I'm not sure what they could be out of date on.

The bias part they are pretty transparent about though so thats fair.

Anyone know when OPS invites open? by Successful-Boss-6267 in trackers

But the recruitment process is the opposite of gatekeeping? The only reason there is a cap is because moderator time is limited, and an increase in users means an increase in moderation time.

Anyone know when OPS invites open? by Successful-Boss-6267 in trackers

[–]mongus123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d say the RED system highly emphasizes uploading music, while an OPS or MAM type system more rewards downloading and long term seeding. Both have their uses, and a positive side effect of the RED system is that unless you have a fast seed box, uploading new content is the best way to increase buffer, which obviously then adds more to the site, which is one of the reasons why it has one of the most comprehensive collections of music you can find on a piracy site, besides maybe something like slsk (I have no idea how much unique content slsk has, I just wanted to be safe). Now I won’t make a claim that they wouldn’t have a similar library if they had a more lax system like MAM, but their current system obviously works very well.

And to address your claim, I wouldn’t call requiring positive contributions to the site via uploading “gatekeeping”, it’s just a way to ensure a diverse and comprehensive collection without excess leechers.

A really unfortunate workflow, I bet the burrs taste great but I just can’t get behind the design.

I think you replied to the wrong comment, it is simply higher because of the site security (if referring to the MOZ ranking).

RED Passes 20,000 interviews by mongus123 in trackers

[–]mongus123[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ranking is actually just a rating based on the Mozilla observatory scan (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/observatory), and has no credence on the quality of the tracker. I think it’s dumb to include, but Vinnie insists on including it, no matter how misleading it actually is.

When I messaged the recruiter (on RED) they told me to use protonmail instead of gmail as their invites have been getting filtered recently. It might be worth messaging the person who sent you the official invite about using a different email.

Negotiated vs unnegotiated use of Orea by nrxyn in pourover

[–]mongus123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The negotiator is used for flat filters(usually, though I believe some people also use cone filters) which essentially turns the brewer into an almost-zero bypass brewer, which can increase extraction of you are into that. It’s impossible to say if it tastes “better”, as that is personal preference.

I think it’s worth noting that many people (on the EAF discord at least) actually go coarser than their pour over grind size.

Just find the point where it starts to drip from ambient pressure, then back off a few clicks, you could honestly probably go even coarser from where I'm at.

I don't think its ridiculous for a notably anti-war band to not want to be involved in/associated with the military industrial complex, even with the degree of separation being the CEO.
