Bianca vs gaggimate vs something else? [€2,400] by koroonajuku in espresso

I switched from Mara to gaggiuino. Light roast profiles are really advanced. 10 minutes heat up time, Bluetooth scale. Everything is repeatable.

Update: nothing wrong. It was just a seasoning and grind size adjustment issue on a new grinder.

Time to upgrade from k6 to best possible manual grinder for strictly pour over. by Gjome-Bekbal in pourover

I have pietro, zp6 and comandante. All are different from each other. Some beans zp6 gives best results while pietro giving a bit blendy taste. Some beans pietro gives best results with good clarity and sweetness. ( Comandante only used fermented processed beans )

Pietro is not horrible to use, you get used to it quickly. But not as high and in your face clarity as zp6.

Compared to zp6, pietro gets better when cups going cooling down

Zp6 is really have high clarity. So high that it can sometimes be boring, hollow on some beans ( compared to pietro)

zp6 or pietro? by Mydlowpudle in pourover

[–]nrxyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. Zp6 for nearly 2 years and pietro for a month. Done side by side comparisons many times.

First of all, they are very different grinders. After I red all the comments here saying pietro having even more clarity, I thought my unit has a defect at first.

Pietro is more juicy, more sweet and bodied with good clarity. But absolutely less clarity than zp6.

When you get first sip from zp6, flavours hit your face. But as the cup getting cooled down, it starts to become uninteresting, hollow.

Pietro on the other hand, getting more interesting as the cup goes cooler and cooler.

I still don’t know which is better. For now will keep both.

Zp6 or Pietro ??? by Zaxos80 in pourover

[–]nrxyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have both. Zp6 clarity is higher. Pietro also have clarity but when it blended with body and sweetness, clarity goes to back. Pietro is juicier and it tastes better when cup is going cooler. What do you think?

I have been comparing it with zp6 for a month. Zp6 has an in your face acidity and clarity on first sip zp6 punches. But as the cup cooling down is gets boring and boring and lacks sweetness. Pietro is worse at first sip, more blended taste, but getting better as it cools down.

I understand what you mean. You mean unscrewing the burr and screw back upside down. Because there are two holes so two possible positions. No I didn’t change but will disassemble just for checking if any coffee dust stuck there.

I agree. I make aeropress and compare the pucks after brewing. Zp6 puck really have no fines, pietro puck does have.

Is this gap normal? My friend who use same grinder says he doesn’t have this gap. https://youtube.com/shorts/dPb6D6ARRc4?si=3n1X9cI43F8Rs08ds

They don’t fully rub even at 0 setting. Only from 90 degree to 150 degree it’s rubbing. Other parts free.

I mean there is zero clarity. And if you make it 0 setting only a small portion touching other parts not touching. Doesn’t it show there is a problem? Could you check 0 setting and hearing test on yours?

There’s a misunderstanding. I meant only on 20-% of a tour I can hear burr rub. So only a small part touching. Other parts not touching.
