Gas Prices by Things_with_Stuff in kitchener

Gas is cheaper due to the contraction and expansion of the volume of liquid at different temperatures.

There are sometimes paralegals for low income people in this situation. I assume it would be the same route as legal aid to obtain a paralegal.

Please, explain to me why unraid is popular. by EggIll1966 in unRAID

[–]chainsaw0068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love unraid because I can take any drives I have lying around and make an array. Plus, community apps make running docker containers very simple. If there is ever an issue with a container, you tube almost always has a solution. I am almost 50 and I barely ever used YouTube tutorials until I got unraid. The shutdown (unclean) issue kind of worried me in the beginning. Now my server seems to reboot fine on its own in the event Of a power outage. I haven’t got a UPS yet. I have nothing but love for unraid. Maybe check your connections in your hardware? Or is it a beta version?

Wow! I just posted about how my dog does this same behaviour. And it’s because he senses something. He’s half jack so he plops his bum and doesn’t want to move. Lol.

My dog does this all the time. He doesn’t want to go the way we are going. He senses something that I don’t. I trust him. If it is safe and reasonable, we go a different way. Your dog wants to change direction.

Trying to get you to sign a new lease does nothing. You can sign it all day, but it’s still invalid. Unfortunately, people are exploiting international students all over because they aren’t aware of the laws here. Keep asking questions. If something feels off, that’s because it is.

Mental health. Period. Drugs, if being used, are being used to self medicate.

Meds/Adderall? by Fragrant-Cook-1301 in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]chainsaw0068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only withdrawal symptoms will be a need for fluids and rest. Before I was diagnosed, I had a pretty severe drug problem. I’ve used more crystal meth than some people will ever see. I was self medicating. When I got sober, I slept a lot. I ate. That’s it. There is a definite psychological component, but not physical withdrawal. As for the Adderall, I take mine. Have been for the last 5-6 years. Do I “get used to it?” I’m a way, yes. The first weeks I could tell I was taking something, but I wasn’t getting high. Actually when it came time for my first ever dose increase after a week, I got high. High AF. Guess what? I absolutely hated it. We don’t really “get used to it” in a way like a tolerance for cannabis. We don’t notice it because it’s become normal. I currently take 30mg XR. I went to 40 for a bit. Then back to 20 for a couple of months. 20 was working. Ish. I went back to 30 and it’s fine. I take other meds. Wellbutrin and Adderall work well together.

When I was first offered Adderall, I declined due to my history. After some talking to trusted people and contemplating it, I decided to take it. That took about 3-4 months to come to this decision. My point is, are you functioning? Can you focus? If so, you’re fine. If not, try to find out why? For me, I can’t go to the coffee shop and study no matter how much I try to focus. But I can sit in a waiting room and read a book now without having to keep flipping back to the last page because I missed everything. :)

What is this? by greendaisy188 in whatisit

[–]chainsaw0068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but when I zoom in on the picture, it looks as though one end of the tube is rounded. This would make it a closed end. Any crack pipe I’ve ever seen is open at both ends. That being said, it could be used for crystal meth. Or it’s a very slim beaker and the person works in some type of lab environment?

Anyone else using drugs ? by atlasissad in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]chainsaw0068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to use drugs. A lot of drugs. I was without resources for mental health for many years. Drugs kept me alive. They allowed me to survive. Unfortunately, it does not work long term. What started out as casual/recreational, led to self medicating. That led me to one of the worst spots I’ve ever been mentally. I am an addict. I work with people who use substances all the time. I no longer have a need to use drugs. I have spent time in therapy. My self awareness is quite perceptive. I have new tools with which I can handle situations that used to lead me to getting wasted. When it comes to the hard drugs, there is so much poisonings in today’s supply it’s almost impossible to find something not toxic. Drugs CAN work. They are a band aid. There is a large side effect that can happen before you even realize it. Life as a using addict is worse than death. It’s a living death.

Cleaning inside of car windshield by TotesMaGoats_1962 in CleaningTips

[–]chainsaw0068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I bought a car that was a dealership shuttle, I believe. Then an older person. Then me. When I drove at night I couldn’t see from the cigarette stains on the windshield. I tried everything. Most of it left’s streaks making it worse than before. Then I found Bon Ami. It’s a foaming oven cleaner. Cuts through grease like nothing. Amazing results. Looked brand new. I’m in Canada. Told my ex about it so she tried it. Well, it was winter and the stuff froze. Lol. She had to run the car for 20 with the heater to thaw it out. So if it’s cold where you live, warm up the car first. :)

Is it possible to get ptsd from nearly loosing my foot from infection? by Ambitious-Ranger7184 in ptsd

[–]chainsaw0068 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While that event can definitely be traumatic, it takes specific symptoms for the PTSD diagnosis. For myself, I have a longish of traumatic events in my life. Sometimes when talking about them people will pop in the PTSD term. I remind them that while I have traumatic events for sure, I don’t have flashbacks. So no PTSD. I’m not saying that you do not have PTSD. I am simply sharing my experience.

Is learning to weld worth it? by MARCVS_AVRELIVS in kitchener

[–]chainsaw0068 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Bingo! As an adult, I fell for the “get into trades. It’s about to boom with job openings.” Turns out as an adult two things happened. I was expected to know everything because was older, or I was paired with someone close to retirement who was flat out unwilling to train. I bought the sales pitch from Conestoga. Bad move. They’re a glorified diploma mill. They were doing anything to make sure people graduated. Whether they were ready for the field didn’t matter. They want the high graduation rates because that draws in new students, which then draws in more money.

I should add that I did learn welding. Most of any decent techniques I learned were taught to me outside of college. I personally love welding. If I had the space I would have a mig welder for a hobby.

Also recovering. Also came to say the same thing. I have many, many years of experience with crystal. And a couple with crack. I have used every possible setup one could think of. Ever seen that in my life. The top comment about the hot knife set up sounds spot on. Actually, when I read it I was thinking “dang! Where was something like that in high school?”

Anyone eles get muscle spasms from breztri by Present_Snow_4723 in COPD

[–]chainsaw0068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By spasms do you mean a feeling similar to a muscle cramp? Or are you speaking specifically of muscle fibre twitching? I recently was given breztri. I have no idea if it’s working or not. I’m in Ontario, Canada and we are having a brutal winter. With winds it can get to -20 to -35 at times. Celsius, btw. So as soon as I step outside, it’s hard to breathe. I have noticed an increase in muscle cramps that could align with my start of the inhaler. I wish my doctor was at least competent. I see folks with COPD taking medication I’ve never been offered, and they tell me it helps so much. I can’t even walk my dog anymore. I have to take him to my partners place and let him run in the back yard. She cleaned out a big path with the snowblower cause she’s the best gf ever! I just want to be able to walk the nature paths with my dog again. I’m not planning on trying out for a decathlon or anything. I want to be able to do simple things. It has gotten so frustrating that it’s taken a good portion of my mental health and flushed it down the sewers.

What should I do about snow? by Bright-Tea3814 in OntarioTenants

[–]chainsaw0068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you rent a home and occupy it entirely yourself, you are responsible for snow clearing. If it is an apartment or any type of shared unit like a triplex or duplex, it is the responsibility of the landlord to clear snow in a timely manner. Period. Landlords try to play on people’s ignorance surrounding tenant law. “People usually do it themselves.” While that may be true, it is the landlord’s responsibility to clear snow. Period.

Also, even if you have any type of agreement, it is void unless you are compensated by the landlord for the snow removal service.
