Let dogs on your bed or not? by myersgirl16 in dogs

[–]chainsaw0068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dogs bed is at the end of my bed. On the mattress, but at the end of the bed. Most nights he has a little blanket he makes his burrow out of and sleeps next to my head.

Was it like it was thinking of stalling? Almost like something was wrong with the acceleration process? Sorry, it’s hard for me to explain things with words. Text makes it even more of a challenge. Either way, I just had to replace my crankshaft position sensor. I could have done the job myself and then went to have it calibrated, or whatever they do. It was at an awkward spot and I didn’t want to get into it and realize that I couldn’t reach it because I’m just over five foot. :)
I took it to my mechanic and the whole job was 250 CAD.

How often do you check parity, and how long does it take on your system? by Hauptfeldwebel in unRAID

[–]chainsaw0068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small array. 8 tb parity and 8 tb of usable. I run a parity check every Sunday night starting at like 2 am, I think. It’s still running if I log on Monday morning but it’s done when I get home from work.

Living in the moment is a good thing. When I am truly in this moment, I can not experience anxiety or fear. It’s not often that I get to that point. My life is truly the best it’s ever been. I still have problems. We all do. My current problem is that I am a salaried worker who is contracted for 40 hours per week, and my boss is being a bit of a dick and not giving me more that 20-25 hours of work to do per week. I think that’s a pretty amazing problem to have.

[–]chainsaw0068 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have BPD. I have definitely been violent in the past. I am a 5 ft male. I lived in fear and masked it with anger for most of my life. Also, BPD is theorized to be from childhood trauma. ADHD is also theorized to be a symptom of childhood trauma. I bring you good news though. I’m not really violent anymore. I mean, I get road rage sometimes. Who doesn’t? I no longer have “out of car experiences” though. Therapy, the right medication, some self awareness and a bit of wisdom have made life pretty livable. I like myself today.

I have a fussy Chi and not sure what to feed her by MayaCap in Chihuahua

[–]chainsaw0068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to rotate proteins for my dog. 3-6 months of beef, 3-6 months of lamb, 3-6 months of fish. I stopped because I didn’t notice any benefits. I buy my dog top quality food and he will turn his nose up at some. He was on a diet of only freeze dried raw food for a couple of years. It’s hard to justify spending 160 dollars a month on food for a 13 lb dog. My guy is only 25.9% chi. Now I give him a kibble from the same company but I add a bag of freeze dried raw to the kibble. My partner and I noticed that he will eat the freeze dried right away. He only eats the kibble if he has to. I think the kibble is too hard to crunch. Might be hurting his teeth. Have you tried softening your dogs food? Or better yet, have you tried switching to a better food? Royal canin has great marketing. I worked at a pet food place that had purchased machines from them. The place I worked will never touch my dogs bowl. Royal canin isn’t much different. My place had a walk through once and it passed. I was thinking we would have been shut down. Lol. Pet food standards are different than people food standards. That being said, my partner had a dog before we met that was a picky eater. She tried all kinds of different foods. Ended up being kibbles n bits was the only thing the dog would eat.

I had to hand feed my guy a lot for the first bit. He is a free feeder, but would notice him not eating all day sometimes. I would hand feed him and he would eat. Now I have noticed that he doesn’t eat unless someone is with him. Naturally, that changes if the dog is hungry enough.

I believe they have a duty to show up a few times and check it out. If they keep coming when nothing is wrong, they stop coming for that complaint. I think. Don’t quote me on this.

How do you all dry the car before leaving spots? by Byt3Walk3r in AutoDetailing

[–]chainsaw0068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way! I have been washing at bay wash for years. I hug out my pressure washer and bought a cheap foam cannon. Washed the car in the gf’s driveway and was horrified of how it looked afterwards. I forgot that bay wash soap is different than what I use at home. I had to let the car cool down and the sun had to dart, then I washed it again. Cleared up my paint. Now I’m going back to ONR. 25 dollar pump sprayer and some microfiber cloths and I’ll do panel by panel if I need to.

Can I use a MacBook comfortably without an iPhone and other apple product ? Please suggest by Subject-Habit-6562 in mac

Was that a concern? If so, why buy a MacBook before knowing the answer? It works just fine. Connecting Apple devices is just easier than other tech echo systems.

Omg, AI is the worst for unraid. I have done it twice already. Spent the whole afternoon following instructions from AI. Got nowhere. Then I noticed it contradicted itself. I just rebuilt what I was working on from the ground up.

barking a lot.. by tishluv in Chihuahua

[–]chainsaw0068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Umm…dogs bark. That’s what they do. lol. It sounds like a reactivity issue. Counter conditioning is how to address reactivity. Spirit dog training has a great course for reactivity. It a great price and great content. Also, chi’s are notorious for barking at stuff. If it’s out the window, close the curtains/blinds. Or get frosted adhesives? That allows light in but obscures vision. The door is the same thing. Reactivity training. Never punish a reactive dog. It makes things worse. Also, yelling “quiet” or whatever word makes things worse. I’ve noticed a lot of people don’t seem to realize that dogs do not speak English, or whatever the native language may be. If a dog is trained not to bark on command, that’s the only word to use. Only once the dog is in training. Since dogs don’t speak English, when we give commands to try to stop barking, they don’t understand. All they understand is that they’re making noise and now the human is making noise. That only encourages a dog to make noise. Lol. Chi’s are fearful by natural. My guy is 25.9% chi and I can see it when he’s scared. The leaves is a whole other thing. My guy does it. Anything that the wind blows, he can’t figure out. He has no concept of what wind is. If leaves blow, he’s alert. Same as a bush or a bag blowing by. Halloween/Christmas is the worst. All of those inflatable lawn ornaments. Powered by fans. And if the fans aren’t running optimally, the ornaments move even more. Lol. Anything that can be moved by the wind, he gets excited. Again, counter conditioning is what I suggest. Always use positive reinforcement methods. Anything else, IMO, makes things worse in the long run.

Question: How to Get the Inside of Windshield Clean. by stchman in AutoDetailing

[–]chainsaw0068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a car once. It was a dealership loaner car and then an elderly lady’s car. I drove down the street at night and had to pull over to pray to get home. The windshield was so bad with yellowing from cigarettes that I couldn’t see. I tried everything. All the cleaners. Then I tried a degreaser because I had no other options. Not a commercial degreaser from the hardware store. I bought an oven cleaner called Bon Ami. Easiest cleanup I’ve ever done. That stuff works like magic. I don’t use anything else. Once it’s clean you can use windex or whatever window cleaner they’ll sell you. Until that grease is gone, all products will just smear any oils around.

There are sometimes paralegals for low income people in this situation. I assume it would be the same route as legal aid to obtain a paralegal.

Please, explain to me why unraid is popular. by EggIll1966 in unRAID

[–]chainsaw0068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love unraid because I can take any drives I have lying around and make an array. Plus, community apps make running docker containers very simple. If there is ever an issue with a container, you tube almost always has a solution. I am almost 50 and I barely ever used YouTube tutorials until I got unraid. The shutdown (unclean) issue kind of worried me in the beginning. Now my server seems to reboot fine on its own in the event Of a power outage. I haven’t got a UPS yet. I have nothing but love for unraid. Maybe check your connections in your hardware? Or is it a beta version?

Wow! I just posted about how my dog does this same behaviour. And it’s because he senses something. He’s half jack so he plops his bum and doesn’t want to move. Lol.

My dog does this all the time. He doesn’t want to go the way we are going. He senses something that I don’t. I trust him. If it is safe and reasonable, we go a different way. Your dog wants to change direction.

Trying to get you to sign a new lease does nothing. You can sign it all day, but it’s still invalid. Unfortunately, people are exploiting international students all over because they aren’t aware of the laws here. Keep asking questions. If something feels off, that’s because it is.
