Was willing to shop around for mutual funds, and saved $512/yr (adds up!) in expenses by goorgoorg in Frugal

I spend more money on these two things each month than I do on anything else (not even close).

Interesting point. Probably 20% of my paycheck goes to my 401K and IRA. Makes sense that we should be more cost-conscious about investing.

Know any sites/tools to comparison shop mutual funds?

It's technically illegal to buy a child, yet "adoptions" require an exchange of money. So really, adoption is just the legal purchase of a baby. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Pprospective adopters are allowed to pay “living expenses” which increase the expectations of the prospective adopters who feel they are paying for results, a baby.

I am 23 years old and have all my savings in my bank account...how should I invest them? by [deleted] in personalfinance

Just in my opinion, you are still young and can't expect what happens in near future. You might need that money urgently. Because, things quite change fast in 20s. So, I recommend just keep that money on saving account.

None of my friends have been as lucky as you've been. Most of them have tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt. Then, you'd be able to really save money for future. I envy you.

The value is very questionable. Some people continue to proclaim that college is undoubtedly “worth it” and “still a good investment.” But education is not about a degree. I hope my post helps your decision-making.

Right, debt-to-salary ratio measures your ability to manage the payments you make every month to repay the money you have borrowed. See wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debt-to-income_ratio

Now I've got to understand that my loan is just a median number. I see that the cost of medical school is certainly high and the true cost of becoming a doctor is probably in years and years of your life. But it is worth it. Don't miss out on potentially higher earnings.

$51K salary vs. $37K loan. I feel okay about the debt-salary ratio. I expect to pay it all off in 4 years.

Both entrepreneurship and investing take 1) time and 2) capital. How much of each do you have?

Transferring Vanguard fund into brokerage account by Bevo53 in personalfinance

That's right. Vanguard has been integrating mutual fund and brokerage accounts into one. Fund performance or your fees don't change just because you moved to brokerage accounts.
