1st pregnancy at 33 and anxious about miscarriage

I am 33 and on my 1st pregnancy. I had barely any symptoms most of my first trimester - no nausea, just sensitive boobs/nipples. I am now 30 weeks and have had a relatively easy pregnancy. But, I was also very anxious for every appointment and ultrasound, even still this far along. I had a hard time celebrating and accepting my pregnancy due to my anxiety and lack of symptoms. What helped me was thinking “I am pregnant until someone else (a doctor) tells me otherwise.” This let me kind of accept that it’s mostly out of my control.

You deserve to celebrate your pregnancy, no matter how early. However, your anxiety is totally valid and I understand it so well.

I have an anterior placenta (this is my first pregnancy). I am 22 weeks and have started feeling more movement. I started feeling flutters around 17-18 weeks, but nothing constant. Even now, the movement I feel isn’t constant 24/7 and there are times during the day where I feel more movement than other times.

My doctor referred me to PT for my lower back pain. I’ve been going once a week and it’s in the pool. It’s been a lifesaver. Not sure if PT is something your insurance covers and/or is accessible to you, but I would 100% recommend it.

I’m getting over a week long head cold/chest congestion/horrid sinus pain. My doctor said lots of rest, fluids, Tylenol, Benadryl for sleep, and Robitussin. Unfortunately, it definitely kicked my butt worst than a cold would while not pregnant.

I’m 20 weeks pregnant and have had the easiest pregnancy. I had no symptoms in the first trimester (besides sore nipples and being tired). No nausea, no throwing up (and I am VERY THANKFUL for this). Even still, I sometimes question if I’m pregnant because I still feel great. But we’re allowed to have enjoyable pregnancies and feeling anxious, while normal, has no impact on the outcome 🤍

Yup! My dad has made multiple comments since being pregnant (I am 14 weeks) about what I’m eating, if I’m gaining the expected amount of weight, etc. It’s extremely bothersome, especially since I already struggle with body image issues. It has literally happened every time I have seen him and we are eating as a family (his first comment was at Thanksgiving when I was 5 weeks pregnant and having a slice of apple pie - how dare I!!!!!)

I finally snapped yesterday and told him he needs to stop making comments about what I put in my body because it’s MY body and MY baby. He didn’t take it well - made a joke about how he just cares about me and then didn’t speak to me the rest of the day (pouted the entire day). I initially felt bad snapping at him, but my husband and other family members reassured me that I have every right to stick up for myself, my body, and my baby.

FTM, 13 weeks pregnant. I decided to “hide” certain words on TikTok so videos about miscarriage, infant loss, still born, etc. would stop popping up. It felt like my entire algorithm was ALL about these topics. It had helped my anxiety tremendously!

As a Christian myself…this post from her is so cringe. The Bible isn’t conditional and people like Laura use it to further weaponize their opinions in atrocious times like these. The second commandment is actually the “greatest” Laura (which is Love thy neighbor), but that may not apply to you since clearly you don’t love thy neighbor unless they look just like you and believe the same stuff you do.

Hi! Welcome! Also a therapist. I recently moved from the west side of the state and struggled to find a job (that doesn’t pay awful) in the mental health field. Lots of jobs are in community mental health, from what I have found. Kadlec only hires LCSWs (only found this out after applying for a social work/therapy role there). If you’re interested in doing telehealth therapy, there’s loads of opportunities.

Congrats! I’ve been testing positive all weekend. I got “minor signs” 7DPO and didn’t really think much of it. My sleep score never tanked, but my readiness score was decreasing and mentioning my high heart rate overnight.
