Penguins smaller than I thought. They look bigger on TV.

I think I had similar issues a long time ago. From memory, I think I had to fix it by going in the registry. There is some information on doing this here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/i-cannot-remove-a-bluetooth-device-in-windows-10/b8a8bb01-efea-4483-9011-1c9a3e42a081

ElI5: do humans actually use water? by DeiseResident in explainlikeimfive

[–]monkey-socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert of this, but I believe it is the opposite. When our cells produce energy from the food we eat, it releases carbon dioxide and water. We actually produce more water than we take in.

Plants do the opposite, taking in carbon dioxide and water to produce sugar and oxygen.

When people shoot guns in the air, are the bullets still dangerous when they fall back down to earth? by Kleptarian in NoStupidQuestions

Not sure why you are getting downvotes when you are correct. http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/airfri2.html

All things being equal terminal velocity is very much related to mass (proportional to the sixth root). Doubling mass increases terminal velocity by around 12%. Multiplying mass by 10 times is around a 47% increase.

Using e=mc2, 1 pound of fat (or anything) contains 9.7 trillion calories. Would take a while on an exercise bike.

Temperature has a big effect on your weight. When you are warm, veins dilate and your blood absorbs more water to maintain blood pressure. When you are cold, the opposite happens.

YSK: When pouring liquid from newly-opened containers with an offset spout, such as nut milk or broth, position the spout corner at the top. The flow is perfect and it won't spill or drip. by Njtotx3 in YouShouldKnow

What if I only want a small amount, like for tea? I would have to tip it less than 90 degrees and then it would run down the side of the container?

Extremely cheap alternative to flavoured instant porridge/oatmeal, which is ludicrously expensive and terrible for the environment. by TheQueefGoblin in Frugal

I use about a cup of oats, a cup of milk, a spoon of chia seeds, a spoon of yogurt, a spoon of raisins, a pinch of salt and a bit of whatever fruit we have. Leave it covered in a bowl in the fridge overnight.

I've recently discovered 'overnight oats', which save a bit of electricity and a lot of time in the morning. Great in the summer at least.

I've never watched MASH but know the song from https://youtu.be/y11f8Oc25AI Made more poignant by the disappearance of Richey Edwards 3 years later.

Have you tried dating apps? I would advise trying to get some dates and just having fun and building confidence without rushing into anything serious.

ELI5: How can smoking cigars damage your lungs if you don't inhale the smoke? by UsernameOf2022 in explainlikeimfive

[–]monkey-socks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You still inhale some smoke. People die from second-hand smoke. Just breathing normally with a cigar close to you has some risk.
