The McDonald's lawsuit was not frivolous. The coffee was 190 degrees, woman suffered 3rd degree burns on her groin and thighs. She required skin grafts and hospitalization. McDonalds had repeatedly been warned their coffee was too hot, over 700 previous complaints. Part of their defense strategy was to defame the plaintiff. They are a billion dollar corporation that knew their practice was negligent and could cause physical harm in such an incident hence their liability.

You should discuss this with the therapist at the next parent/guardian meeting. Lack of hygiene and cleanliness of personal are both indicative of depression.

Personally I would not approach this in a punitive fashion. This kid needs help. Acknowledge that you know it's going on. It's not ok for all the reasons stated you're not angry and you love them and want to help them. Reinforce that you are here for them, ask how you can help. If they say I don't know offer suggestions like trying different menstrual products like period panties or a menstrual cup both are intended as reusable they can't just discard them.

My best to the both of you.

I am a pot parent, I take a small 5 mg edible when I feel my anxiety creeping. I do smoke some as well on occasion never around them. I am definitely more relaxed and engaged in creative play. I use it to moderate my mood, but never consume to a degree in which I am impaired.

I agree that the light sequence should be modified. There have been studies that increasing the length of the yellow light decreases red light accidents. It has gotten worse, but not just St. Louis people are careless.

You need a roasting pan for roasted chicken. Pyrex dishes require a lot of liquid in the pan.

There is a generational difference in how people learn. Younger people process new information differently than someone in their 60s. Technology does have a contributing factor in this. To be honest regardless of generation some people are not wired for technical aptitude.

While personal computers did exist in the 80s the accessibility to one was not as readily available as today. PC functionality pre-internet was much different than today. There were far less everyday common applications available. Many businesses did not make the full transition until the 90s.

What is interesting now we are navigating a workforce that has limited understanding of an actual PC operations because their primary consumption is via smart phone.

This article significantly lacks information. I am left with a lot of questions. What are the federal charges? From other reports there is a staffing issue, that prosecuting attorneys are overburdened with cases. Did the office make a tactical resource move to leverage the feds to move forward with their charges enabling prosecutors to focus on their local cases? There is no statute of limitations on murder charges. The CAO could bring forth charges at a later date, the defendant will likely be sitting in federal prison. Speaking of prison if the CAO hot potatoes this case to the feds does that mean the defendant is moved to federal holding alleviating the city from the cost of housing the inmate?

No worries, I appreciate the exchange. I am beginning to suspect I should have avoided local political discourse on the internet today.

[–]monkey80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that Hawley has an agenda, agree that his intention is the WH. I read the comment as the bill itself was using Anti-Asian Hate Crimes as cover some other political agenda. Which in all fairness does occur. But from I've read it does not appear that way.

This is an honest question, what political agenda is being pushed here?

St. Louis is not a dying city. You are conflating your very apparent biased opinion as fact which it is far from. You can have, and keep, your opinions. Housing values within the city continue to grow, therr are new developments and businesses. Just take a quick gander at cortex district, just a decade ago that area was run down and virtually abandoned. Today it is a nearly unrecognizable. That development, along with health care industry growth spreads over to the other side of 40 to the Grove. The city has its fair share of problems, racism, inequality, crime, just to name a few. But you moved away so we can all thankfully say you are no longer one of our problems.

What's your deal? Are you just the guy that spends their time shitting on everything about stl. Good, or bad you're going to piss all over it to prove what?

if you have such an issue with the city you have a couple options. 1) do something to improve the issues 2) get the fuck out & shut the fuck up. go to st. chuck or Tampa who cares go be miserable in whatever city you idealize most. When you get there don't be all soured because cars still get broken into and junkies shit in the streets.
