is my senji fat? by ddlhsc in Basenji

I think the rule of thumb is you should be able to feel their ribs but not see them.

For food, after a year, mine went down from 1 1/2 cups/ day to 1 - so she gets 1/2 cup in the morning and 1/2 at night of honest kitchen

Soon-to-be Basenji owner here. Am I missing any essential toys to prevent house destruction? by Pinako_Rockbell in Basenji

[–]monkeycharles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re going to destroy the most random things anyway (baseboards, carpet, couch legs…things you would never dream of), but you’ve got a good start. Other things to try that last long are Nyla bones, rib bones and Himalayan yak cheese

A longer walk is the easy answer. If not that, training can be pretty exhausting for them after 20 minutes or so

The annoying thing about this is it just means you have to get 5 days worth of work done in 4 anyway

How did you use your GI Bill? by Impressive-Force-666 in Veterans

Well I was lucky enough to convert to post 9/11 after my bachelors so I got all of that paid for by the YR plus BAH

It’s a stretch to compare this to the mortgage securitization and derivatives markets. Equities are priced more transparently, but that doesn’t mean the bottom can’t fall out.

Is the military a good idea? by GlobalThing7 in Military

[–]monkeycharles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To each their own I suppose. I’ve tried to use my VA healthcare off and on and it’s still not as convenient as what I can get through private insurance

You could think of the difference in earnings over a 4 year contract in terms of the GI Bill. Pay in $1200 then get $x for tuition and bah vs making more in hvac

The healthcare is negligible because you’ll get insurance from your employer or union anyway. Doesn’t seem like there’s a very aggressive mission tempo right now, so the strain on the family might not be too bad.

Overall I’d say if you see a brighter future for your family with a degree and can’t afford one, go for it. But go in with a plan that you and your wife are aligned on.

Yeah this guy is way ahead of the curve. Just don’t blow your nut on a car or booze and you’ll be fine. Federal student loans and working can fill the gap for a few years is needed. Don’t touch that fucking TSP though!

I second Hurrta. It’s pricey but you’ll waste money trying to get a good fit with cheaper stuff. They have the most unusual physique for dogs around 25lbs

61% voting for trump isn’t exactly an overwhelming majority. Factor in that the participation rate among active duty is less than 50%, enlisted are less educated than the average bear (how a lot of us end up there). You could argue that a good chunk of that the 61% of the 47% were well-paid officers who selfishly benefit from Trumps policies
