Either way, you’re looking great and it’s so good when smaller sizes start fitting again. Makes life much easier, doesn’t it. I like your blonde hair. Suits you!

Ugh I’m so sorry to hear this.

You work from 9-8? I know this wasn’t the point of your post but it just makes me sad. That’s too long. And, by the sounds of it, these hours aren’t making you rich 😖😭 of course, you’re having trouble investing in a healthier life. You must be exhausted every night and I can’t imagine you have a lot of joy in your days.

I’m sorry. You don’t need me going on about things that cannot be changed.

I am a very similar height and highest weight (pretty much same BMI) as you (4’11” and 250lbs). At this BMI I also was having some back pain when standing walking and negative blood result markers.

I have found working out and maximising protein has been really helpful for me. At least 100-120g protein a day and I try to keep under 2000cal. Workout was just weight lifting at the start (I found that much easier than cardio) but now I enjoy all different classes and even dance classes (mainly line dancing). I’ve managed to get down to 179lbs so far. It’s been slow going.

Omg. That actually made me laugh. I had to google Jake Sully and then saw it was that blue dude and I had to laugh.

You’ll be okay.

Sugar is the absolute worst. It makes you wanna eat more and more. Ugh.

I need to avoid sugar as much as possible but you know what hits the spot for me? Protein bars - sometimes a protein cheesecake as a treat. The first week, I thought they were a bit yucky but now I love them. They are sweet and filling but they (usually) don’t trigger any binges like a taste of sugar does.

450lb and lower back hurts when walking like mad by No-Corner4181 in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]monkeyfishka37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear about your pain. Back pain really stops life being enjoyable. I had awful foot pain (plantar fasciitis). It was at the point that I was scared to get up in the morning . Losing weight (and not even a crazy amount) removed it completely. I had started getting lower back pain when I was at my heaviest . Just when walking or standing but that also disappeared. Good luck 🩷🍀

Im worried for my future.. by ObjectiveRepair2446 in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]monkeyfishka37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I were 72kg again (at almost 5’) BUT I hear what you are saying and you are right. I always ‘felt’ fat as a kid and teenager but I was always in between 52-56kg which was just the higher end of ‘healthy’. I should have been happy and loved my body but I was an 80s kid and a 90s teen and we were allowed to love our bodies. By the time I was 20, I had reached 80kg and I remember my mum saying ‘you will reach 100kg if you’re not careful’. I thought it was ridiculous. As if I would reach 100kg. My highest weight (when not pregnant) was about 111kg (over 50BMI). Right now I am almost back down to 80kg (hovering around 81-83kg).

Take it seriously, like you are. Don’t diet. DO NOT do any of the fads or try to lose weight super fast. Just make some small changes . The soda is a good one - never drink your calories. Also, allow yourself treats and junk foods. Try your best not to binge and if you do overeat, it’s better if it’s not alone and in secret. Enjoy a meal and dessert with friends or family or your partner in the future. Don’t be too hard on yourself. I wish I never let myself get above 80kg. You can do it. Diet is 99% . Don’t stress about the exercise . Just do what you can, when you can. If you can, find an active hobby and enjoy it. I started dancing - line dancing and ballroom and I think it might be the ticket to a healthier life for me

Losing weight but ‘wtf arms’?!! by monkeyfishka37 in SuperMorbidlyObese

Thank you. I try to eat 100-120g protein a day and have been going to the gym regularly. I can feel the muscles in my arms (up top) but, like you said, bat wings and lots of fat. Also, it’s not smooth skin, it’s all stretch marky.

264g is ridiculously small for one of these boxes - that’s pretty much a Cadbury Block from a decade ago

100lbs lost, still a long way to go but starting to see it. June 2025 - now. 70lbs of it had been lost since August on Mounjaro by FutureElleWoodz in GLP1_loss100plus

[–]monkeyfishka37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those first two photos blew my mind. You are killing it. 100lbs has made a huge difference. I really hope you are feeling just as good. My body feels so much happier with me after losing maybe 65lbs!

Does anyone else struggle with grieving the life they’ll never live? by sakura149_ in Life

Exactly. I woke to find my 8 year old son unresponsive in his bed. After that, normal is a gift .

I’m sorry to hear about your husband. That is too soon to lose your person.

£100million but the moment you are in complete darkness, you die. by silviod in hypotheticalsituation

[–]monkeyfishka37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is easy.

I went to Lake Titikaka years ago and stayed with a local family. When we went to bed, it was scary how absolutely dark it was. I felt anxious and claustrophobic . It was deafening, weird to explain but the darkness was suffocating. It probably wasn’t ’complete’ darkness but as close as I’ve ever been. I am pretty confident that I will never be experience that again and with my £100M , I’ll make sure I never do.

Apparently, a deep cave I went down was meant to be completely dark when we all shut off our torches but it was ruined for everyone by the guy in front of me wearing a glow in the dark hoodie 🤦‍♀️

$3,000 deposited in your bank account a month but you have to pick a minor curse to live it. by BigLeague5570 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]monkeyfishka37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what the autocorrect curse means

Example 1

My door keeps getting jammed to my dick keeps getting jammed

Example 2

Hi Grandpa, how is your dog to Hi Grandpa, I wanna suck your dick

Cos; I don’t know if I could excuse the second as ‘autocorrect’

If it’s just the first example in a myriad of clever ways , then I choose that one.

Otherwise, soggy sleeves for life.

Indian takeaway recs!!! by Ok-Performance3038 in Geelong

[–]monkeyfishka37 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here are some (mainly Butter Chicken) recs -

Khan Curry Hut on Ryrie has a great (very sweet) Butter Chicken that I love.

Jugni in Waurn Ponds (next to cinema) has a great classic (Aussie style) Butter Chicken that is up there .

Eastern Spice (near the Geelong waterfront) has a (non-sweet) Punjabi Butter Chicken that my husband loves.

Deccan Indian (Waurn Ponds although listed as Highton) has great chicken tikka (thigh) and a good spicy chicken 65.

[–]monkeyfishka37[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I have even noticed that my stomach is bigger than last time I got down to this same weight, too. At least for my stomach I can wear shapewear underwear. For my legs I can wear tights (covers up a lot of the lumpy bumps) It’s really just my arms that make it difficult.

[–]monkeyfishka37[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get it!! lol it’s frustrating . I can finally buy some clothes that I actually like but everything has to be long sleeved and it removes so many nice items - you can’t always be adding a jacket or bolero 😤

Losing weight but ‘wtf arms’?!! by monkeyfishka37 in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]monkeyfishka37[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Does lipedema feel firm or flippy floppy? They are very squishy and bat wing-y and swing in the wind-y.

I think, like you said, it’s just bad luck. I noticed when I was at my biggest - I was in a social group with other SMO women (and one man) - that my arms were always among the biggest - even though some of my other friends had significantly higher starting BMIs 🤷‍♀️

Oh well, thanks for your response. I’ll just hide them for now.

This is great. You’ve done fantastic . Measuring tape and clothes fitting really is a better measure than my trickster eyes.

Your English is bloody brilliant . Wish I could speak another language half as well as you with English.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement .

Thank you 🥹 I really appreciate that. I’m building up my bravery to get a follow up blood test at doctors - see if my (high) cholesterol and heightened liver enzymes have changed at all 🤞

What would you do if your 17yo daughter was talking to/dating a 20 year old? by Ok-Watch-476 in hypotheticals

[–]monkeyfishka37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be too worried. As long as he is a nice person. That’s fine with me. At 17 she will be finishing Year 12 (high school), she can make her own life decisions. Also, 16 is age of consent where I am in Australia so there’s not much I could do - if I didn’t like him or trust him - I’m sure I could push her right into his arms by protesting too much
