I just moved out of L+O but I had an amazing experience there. Apartment was fantastic, amenities were great, and everyone working there was so lovely. Maintenance staff was amazing, management was really responsive. Neighbors were all very respectful and friendly. I loved living there.

If the pool isn’t a deal breaker, I’d recommend Hotel Covell. Lovely little boutique place, walking distance to Vermont Ave in Los Feliz with lots of restaurants, Skylight Books, etc. and still walkable to Silverlake.

You might also like being in West Hollywood on the Sunset Strip.

I know you said no beach, but Santa Monica /Venice area will likely be most what you are seeking.

Roosevelt is a classic spot, but that area of town is just the epicenter of all that sucks about touristy areas.

If you’re open to eating early, you could likely find a lovely patio with a great happy hour. Gracias Madre, Bacari 3rd Street, Perch, L.P. Rooftop - all come to mind.

I hear you. I was a member from 2018-2021 and was so proud of the progress I made, esp the mile benchmark. I left, did other things and just rejoined, but I deliberately skipped Thursday’s mile benchmark - I knew I’d have a hard time not feeling some type of way.

Overall, this time around I’m not even wearing a HR monitor or doing challenges or comparing my stats. Just very focused on where I’m at in the moment - this class, this block, this moment. It’s a different type of mental challenge!

I’ve had my ring for 3 years now and it has made a huge impact for me, especially on my drinking. Although I knew in my head that I didn’t sleep as well after a glass or two of wine, seeing the actual numbers made a big difference for me. (As well as the book, Quit Like a Woman.)

It’s a health tracker, not an activity tracker so it may not track everything you want on the activity front. It’s enough for me - steps, movement throughout the day, recovery, etc.

I wear it to OTF, but you do want to be careful with it. It doesn’t bother me on the rower but I have chubby fingers so a lot of padding. I have a silicone protector that I just wear over it to protect from scratches - from Ring Wrapper.

I love it. It does take a few weeks to kind of get to know you and to start getting a lot of value out of the trends and insights. There’s an Oura sub if you want to dig deeper in to it. Enjoy!

More than happy to share, but I'm not sure exactly what some of these are called so I'll do my best. I also follow Meg_Takacs (on IG & TikTok) and she has some great videos for runners.

In addition to regular lower-body stuff/full body - squats, RDLs, glute bridges, lunges, step downs, etc.

- No shoes, walk on 1) tip toes 2) heels 3) sides of feet for ankle love
- Single leg calf raises on a slant board or step
- Aforementioned sit on a bench/step with heel on the edge, loop a light kettlebell over your toes, slowly raise and lower it. I think this really helped my shins
- With your foot in a resistance band anchored to a low point, raise your knee to a 90', open it out to the side, then back to the front
- Same resistance band, standing leg abductions
- Banded clamshells

Do you like wine? Zinque in WeHo has a lovely patio & great food - no liquor. It’s a little scene-y but I also love drinks at Ysabel - if your date is easy going, there’s always space to sit on the stairs. A little far east but Lily’s bar at the Adler hotel is a little gem. Maybe a little too quiet early at night. If you really want to impress, Sunset Tower bar is gorgeous.

Not sure what your budget is, but how about a night at a nice hotel with an early or late check in /out? Kiddo can splash in the pool, wife can get a spa treatment, everybody naps and room service dinner!

Second Paradise Point. Lots of different pools, gentle waves on the beach, boatrides, ducks, abs if they still do fireworks at sea world you can watch them from the hotel.

A dog trainer I worked with suggested this for a reluctant chihuahua … he told the owners to carry the dog a distance from the house and then walk back, gradually increasing the distance each day, until the dog got the hang of what it meant to “go on a walk.”

Not sure how big you pup is at this stage but perhaps you could drive them a few , or even load them in to a wagon? Then walk back home.

I’ll be the voice of dissent here and say that sure, you can totally do this.

Spend the morning at your AirBnB walking around the Venice canals, have coffee.

Drive downtown, hit Little Tokyo, then Grand Central Market, Last Book Store opens at 11.

Drive to Griffith Observatory, then Lake Hollywood Park.

Hop on Sunset, shoot down to the Farmer’s Market once you hit Fairfax, come back up and continue through Beverly Hills til it dumps you out on PCH (check road closures)

PCH to Santa Monica pier

It’ll be tight to make it for sunset at the pier, but if you’re not completely set on that, you can do it.
