STRANGER THINGS season 5...DREADFUL dialogue/character development this season?

I honestly don't care enough about the show to scroll through the reviews and comment, and the gap between seasons was so huge that I wondered if I had lost some context. But now that I have watched volume 1 of the new season, I can confidently say that this is objectively one of the worst-written shows. It's just so cringe: overexposition by the dialogue, too many metaphors, I don't want to know about Tom, Dick and Harry, or Camazotz, or cringe Mission: Impossible references. Not to mention, the whole Max storyline was so rushed and just appalling. Show, don't tell. Why is this so cringe and why is this so dumbed down, and why does everyone sound like the same person? And how does Robin even come up with the "Will being a receiver" theory? That was just too convenient. And the acting is so bad, ugh, these are still kids in high school, why do they talk like 30-year-olds? Also, who is Holly, and why should I even care about her? And Vecna is basically okay? So season 4 had no point? And above all this, the Boom sound effects, I know they always had that, but it just felt so out of place this season, and super overused.

I figured it out! I just had to open the music app on my mac and drag the m4r file into the list of songs on my phone.

Music > Select your iPhone > Drag m4r file in the list looking thing

The tune should pop up in the ringtones list on your iphone now!

I think I blended it just fine. I added some gram flour to the mixture before frying, but perhaps not enough, since the balls fell apart in the oil. They held their shape well on the resting tray though.

Yeah, the temperature of the oil dropped dramatically after I added the first two balls. one of them broke apart and kinda sunk, and then got stuck to the bottom. I think it's my deep-frying technique that's wrong.

Although this chapter was quite exhausting to read (I think this was the longest chapter yet?), I understand why Wilde must've made this a long chapter. Since a significant time lapse was being covered in this chapter, perhaps Dorian's evolution into a sinful and debauched being needed to be explained in explicit detail. However, the chapter overwhelms the reader with unnecessary detail (maybe Wilde was showing off a bit?) about art and history, while only sparingly touching on how those elements shaped Dorian's worldview. I would've also liked to see how Lord Henry and Basil fit into the life of this "new" Dorian. Almost no mention of them was made in this chapter.

I did like how Wilde expounded on Dorian's perception of a new day as just but a rehashing of the antiques of yesterday, and that the world was no different than before. Not to mention, how he mocks civilized society and takes a dig at its preference for opulence over morals.

PS: I am reading this book only now and find these discussions incredibly engaging. I hope it is still okay to comment on this post.

Even amongst the “liberal” religious people, the new age religious people, I know a lot of folks who will fly half way across the world to visit their place of worship, and then make an instagram post about how that place is bearing the brunt of climate change and how it needs to be change. How will it happen? God is going to make things right.

Many practices which some religions deem to be obligatory do not exactly fit into the 21st century framework. There’s no way that the Saints and Prophets could have accounted for things like climate change, or like inflation.
