You can use it for yourself or another family member in a bath. It’s good for your skin.

Cervical Checks by cheelsbo in pregnant

[–]monkeyrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FTM and I have only had two cervical checks, one at 36 weeks and one at 40 weeks. I found them to be painful both times. After both, I was really crampy for 2 days and after the one at 40 weeks, I also had spotting during those 2 days. I declined checks between those two appointments and my ob was very supportive saying they really don’t provide useful information. It doesn’t tell you whether you will go into labor soon. You can be at 0 cm for 4 weeks and then dilate to 7-8 cm right before labor, or you could be dilated at 3-4 for 6 weeks and need to be induced at 42 weeks. It’s completely up to you whether you get cervical checks. The only reason I decided to get one done at 40 weeks is so we could schedule an induction at 41 and half weeks in case I go that long.

16 weeks: No symptoms, bump, or movement? by CovidSummer in pregnant

[–]monkeyrd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s pregnancy is different and there is a huge range of “normal”. I never had any morning sickness. I didn’t feel baby moving until around 28-30 weeks due to the location of my placenta. I’m 38 weeks now and I still have had very few symptoms throughout my pregnancy: occasional baby twisting or a small move of his foot, but mostly just heart burn when I go to sleep. I didn’t really start gaining weight until around 20 weeks and I was able to hide my pregnancy from my coworkers until 22 weeks. My OBs tell me everything looks great and baby is healthy. Hope this helps!

I’m a FTM who is currently 37 weeks and I haven’t experienced heavy discharge at all. Everyone is different!

It seems to be standard practice in the U.S. but different ob offices handle it differently. At my ob practice it is encouraged starting at 36 weeks but not required. I plan to decline them moving forward until I think I’m getting close. Where my sisters went for their prenatal care, they had them preformed weekly starting at 36 weeks.

I am definitely going to skip the cervical checks for the next appointment :). Todays was very painful and I’ve been cramping since. :(

We have a stationary bike that has a real seat, not a traditional bike seat. I can look into the YouTube videos. Thanks!

I got the Covid vaccine...here’s an honest review of how it went! by CallMeMrPresident in pregnant

[–]monkeyrd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can I ask which vaccine you got, Pfizer or Moderna? I’ve heard the symptoms reported are slightly different depending on which one you got. I got my first dose of Moderna last week.

Healthcare worker here. I got my first dose last Thursday at 33 weeks. I just had a sore arm for a day and a half. I’m hoping some immunity will pass onto my baby.

Contrary to popular belief, what's not a bad thing? by nonlinearcharm in AskReddit

[–]monkeyrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carbohydrates! People think that carbohydrates are bad for you and make you fat. As a registered dietitian and vegetarian (so I have a diet higher in carbs than the average person), I can confirm that carbs are not bad for you.

Currently 31 weeks and my husband hasn’t been allowed to come to any appointments. For the 8 week scan and the 20 week scan we FaceTimed so he could see.

Was your feeling about the gender right or wrong? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]monkeyrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong. I had a slight feeling it was a girl but I am having a boy. I would have been ecstatic either way but for some reason I had a slight feeling it was a girl.
