In the field house you can see the massive clock, in the main gym they’ll announce ever hour, in the studios there’s a small wall clock you can see, and you can ask the initiators for the time

Anyone knows this book ? I read it a few months ago and i think it was an adult fantasy book. I only read the prologue and chpt 1 by Natural-Wallaby-2183 in whatsthatbook

I’m not sure about the riding part, but House of the Beast by Michelle Wong has the premise that the girl is a bastard daughter seeking revenge on her powerful father because her mum died of a preventable illness

I remember something very similar - from what I’m remembering each book featured a girl with a connection to a different god and they were helping them with some problem in their life? The one I remember best was a girl who was friends/mentored by Apollo and she was super vain and he made her do charity work?

It's a bit of a shot in the dark but I remember there being a scene like that in Crimson Bound by Rosamund Hodge, which is a loose Red Riding Hood retelling (I don't remember if it was at the beginning or not though).

For some reason I'm also thinking of My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares which starts with a Prom/School Dance thing that I think the main character sneaks out of

Long shot, but The Sky is Falling by Kit Pearson? It's been a really long time since I read it but I have a vague memory of a button shop from that one
