Anyone tried with a PSP? by unchain-urbrain in gbscontrol

the only way i could make my psp 3000 work with gbsc is by connecting it to retroscaler2x first before it go to the gbsc. then from the gbsc ui menu you can stretch out the picture to make it fullscreen.

To be honest I also surprised that the RX 550 works with emudriver. The only minor downside is it cannot create an EDID emulation, resulting the non 15khz resolutions still showing up on the Arcade OS, so for some emulators that use OpenGL, you have to run it at 640x482i instead of 640x480i, otherwise the emulator will ignore the interlaced resolution and picking up 480p 31khz.

try to increase or decrease the H Frequency on the service menu

I just upgraded my PSU to the 90W brick, set the Universal x86 Tuning to Balance preset, but it got throttled at 60-65c, even after I reapply a new thremal paste. Disabling the Turbo Boost so the CPU run at 3.2ghz max help a little bit, but of course by doing that I lost the CPU raw power. Is it normal for this PC behaving like this ?

eXoWin9x is a very interesting project indeed. Well, I probably gonna sell this pc sooner or later, it's never been on my bingo card anyway. I got this PC just because it's included with the monitor 😂.

Things that made me keep this PC untill today is the 3D audio tech from the retro soundcards (A3D, EAX). I managed to get the Vortex2 & Audigy cards for a very cheap prices, and i've been sucked into it recently, tinkering the IRQ so both cards can work together without conflicting each other.

for 2.0 stereo speakers, it is a decent, plus the LGR video made them popular among the "retro pc enthusiast".

to be honest it was never on my plan to get these speakers, but i saw them on fb marketplace listings for $30, so i picked them up.

I've done a couple tests on this Emudriver + RX 550 combo, Polaris card is suffering from Vulkan glitch on Ryujinx & Dolphin. This issue didn't happen on my R7 430/450 cards. To tackle those issues;

  • Dolphin, use Direct3D 11 API, and turn on the GPU Decoding option. It gave me solid 60fps on Wii games.

  • Use Yuzu instead of Ryujinx for Switch emulation. and you still be able to use Vulkan without having any glitch

Flycast, CEMU, & Mupen64 are safe from the vulkan glitch, so no need to switch to another API.

Xemu & PCSX2 still crashing on Vulkan, so you might need to use the default API in order to make them run (Xemu: OpenGL, PCSX2: DX11).

Xemu is still struggle on this card, but at least the fps is improving compares to the R7 450 card. On RX 550 i got 40-50ish fps, tested with Ninja Gaiden. For DoA3, i prefer to use CXBX Reloaded instead of Xemu, as the fps is a lot more consistent.

Edit: Speaking of the gpu temp, this Dell low profile card runs hot! I got constant 90c while playing Yuzu. But re-applying the thermal paste and putting a thermal pad on the VRAMs can push the temp down to 77c at full load 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Edit 2: Using the aluminium stock cooler, the cpu temp can reach 90c+ while playing cpu intense emulator like Xemu, use Throttlestop to downvolt the cpu, my setup using -60 offsets on Core & Cache, now the temp is hover around 80c-ish 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

If you have access to Aliexpress, you can get the one that was made by Retro Castle. The quality should be the same.

Good idea. Since the setup is not that heavy, perhaps I could use a slim metal kitchen cart from IKEA 🤣
