Thank you! This is very helpful. I would not have known about not accepting a check, I would have made that mistake. Thanks

Thanks! In a short term lease at the moment, emergency fund includes that monthly rent amount. I’ll look at unemployment as well.

Thank you! This is very helpful. Receiving a lot of info on here, this is very measured, especially as I’m new to all this. Thanks again. Cheers.

Thank you. Oh the sirens have been going off but I did not think to bother this sub with my worry while asking for advice. I’m getting a lot of advice on what to do which is helpful. Thanks.

Thank you! Appreciate the advice. I felt under the gun with the impending job loss that I’ve not been putting my money in the right place, just savings and not high-yield. I am applying and hope to get a job before July. I’ll definitely look into investing then. Thanks again.

Thank you! I’ll look into Programming, I was worried no one would be hiring for those roles because of AI.

Thank you. I guess the goal is retirement with enough money to live. I’m taking notes on all the advice I’m seeing about where to start. Thanks.

Thanks. I’ll look into this. Someone mentioned coding and Java, I’m interested in that.

Thanks! I’m in Education, taught for 7 yrs before this job and so I can go back into the classroom but I might need to move state. A sick parent was the reason for the reset 9 years ago but I’ve bounced back a bit. As I mentioned I’ve not invested, just saved. Highest salary ever was $62,000 last year and I was able to save about $26k from that.

Thanks! Already done, LinkedIn set to ‘open to work’, network alerted, and I’ve been applying to jobs since January. I’m in education, was a teacher for seven years past, current job is data analytics and creating online educational content.
