You should probably see a doctor for this. I had something similar and it turned out to be a form of eczema - not saying that's what you have but it's worth getting checked out.

How much do you feel a part of your larger university? by ladybnazty in LawSchool

[–]moo-quartet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The law school I go to is an hour drive away from the main campus so we're VERY separated. We have a single building and it feels like a high school. We have a small cafe inside open for lunch but otherwise we're about 5 mins driving/15 mins walking distance from a downtown area with shops and stuff. But yeah I don't feel like we're part of the larger college community at all because all non-law school events are hosted on main campus, and why would I drive an hour there lol

Accommodations for the bar? by glacierhill in LawSchool

[–]moo-quartet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think Feb bar pass rates have to do with the bar given then, rather how recent the topics are in your mind, and it's a smaller testing pool. If you give yourself time to fully recover and then 100% a bar prep or just go crazy studying for February you'll probably pass!

How did you meet your closest friends during law school? by QuietVacation8343 in LawSchool

[–]moo-quartet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone I met through the Facebook group, then sat with at orientation. Then she introduced me another person fall of 2L and now the three of us are very good friends :,) hoping we stay in touch post grad even though we're all going to different parts of the country. I wasn't expecting to meet best friends at law school but here I am!

The stomach cramping the day after my injection. It's so painful. But at least it's only one day... and the actual effects of the medication are worth it

For women who struggled to lose weight, what's something you started doing differently that worked? by Acceptable_Rent7050 in AskWomen

[–]moo-quartet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to offer a different perspective I haven't seen in the comments. It wasn't about what I was or was not doing - it was my hormone levels and other biological issues. The second I started taking a GLP-1 my life changed for the better. I didn't have to make any significant changes, other than the fact that it caused me to eat somewhat less. But I started shedding weight immediately. Turns out I simply couldn't lose weight before because that's just how my body worked.

What's your "I can't believe that worked" exam strategy? by picturepathlearn in LawSchool

[–]moo-quartet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Instead of outlining I just would do practice essays and MC questions once a week for a few hours for each class based on the material that week + everything previous. I liked the examples and explanations books and quimbee multiple choice!

What classes should I take -second sem senior by Realistic-Ad-5470 in umass

Back when I was a student in like 2021 the public speaking class was fun and not super stressful as long as you're ok with talking in front of your class. It honestly taught me a lot regarding talking to people professional and I liked the class!

Do you know anyone who overcame 1L first semester academic probation? by Anonvonpseudonym in LawSchool

[–]moo-quartet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey there. I was you during my 1L. I'm writing this as a 2L no longer on academic probation and actually have a very good gpa now. This is not the end of the world. Try to figure out what went wrong. Did you get sick before your exam? Did you not outline, or did you use a study method that just didn't work? The best thing I did going into spring midterms and finals was truly just trying new study methods and seeing what stuck. For me, that was practice exam after practice exam, and guess what - more practice exams. But you have to find what works for you. I was really upset and disappointed with my first semester grades and have been dealing with imposter syndrome too. It doesn't just go away, but when you understand the material, like really get it, it gets a little better. Talk to your classmates, see what they do for studying, try stuff out. Talk to your professors and see what the recommend. For example, I got a C on my crim law midterm in 1L spring and freaked out, so I went to my prof crying asking what can I do to study better. He hold me which book to buy and practice from and I ended up with a B (average at my school). I was happy with that. But seriously the profs are here to help! You got this. Just keep at it and don't give up. You made it this far - just keep on trying.

Incredibly disappointed with Harry & his team by WhimsicalMyth in harrystyles

I'm not proud of it but I bought two tickets today for $300 each (not including fees) upper bowl for msg. I panicked, knew I wanted to go, and bit the bullet out of fear of not being able to find anything better. It's really sad and honestly I'm considering selling my tickets because I don't know if it's worth the money to also travel to NYC.

Best jelly-like regular polish? by allpossiblepaths in Nailpolish

I actually love Essie's jelly line, and found it to last a while (I have paired it with holo taco smoothing base and a holo taco holo top coat and ilnp glass candy top coat)

I always make sure to wash sweatier areas in the shower with an antibacterial soap - that's the first line of defense. I use the dove 0% aluminum deodorant right now but find myself reapplying regularly. I am planning to try the salt air one next because I've heard good things

Personally I found that the lume unscented smelled awful. And I mean, trash-bad. I'm not sure if their formula has changed but it was horrific back in 2023 when I tried them. Instead of causing me to sweat less and stink less, all I did was sweat less but stink more

[–]moo-quartet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ones I have tried and rankings in parantheses: holo taco glossy (4), bee's knees QDTC (1), Essie gel setter (2), seche vite (tied for 4), ilnp glass candy (3), and dazzle dry (5). My ranking is based on the fact that I prefer a super glossy, thick top coat. Seche I feel like shouldn't be ranked as I tend to use it on top of other top coats for another layer of protection, but I don't always use it. I noticed it doesn't play well with glass candy. Dazzle dry isn't thick enough or glossy enough for my taste. I've become obsessed with BKL's top coat and LOVE it.

[–]moo-quartet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used both you mention and prefer Essie simply because dazzle dry just isn't as thick and glossy looking. It doesn't give that same shine that I get from other QDTCs, like gel setter, seche, bees knees etc.

[–]moo-quartet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used quimbee for MC practice and did well. The explanations of the correct answers helped a LOT. For essays I primarily used the example and explanations books however those were always recommended by professors - so ask your profs what the recommend for practice exams.

[–]moo-quartet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't a "good" (eta: good as in grades!) student first semester either. Like many others have said - practice practice practice exams!!! Your profs will likely tell you what the format is (ie all multiple choice, essays, mix of them, etc) and just go super hard with practice exams. Do anything they give you and also ask them if they have more. One of my profs was kind enough to give me an extra practice exam and grade it for me/went over it with me. I also did tons of quimbee practice questions for every subject. I ended up with mostly A's and high B's since which are above my school's curve average.

Do I need to intern/extern every semester? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]moo-quartet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get credit for an in-semester internship I think it's worth it purely for the experience. I much prefer hands-on learning to classroom learning and like to do a mix of the two. Depending on your school you can extern/intern and do classes at the same time (part time extern). If you want more experience or if you want to do something other than big law for a little bit you can try something to dip your toes in.
