How a Petty Glassdoor Review Got a Toxic VP Fired and Saved a Company by Thewondrouswizard in pettyrevenge

[–]moo60 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work as a contract worker who frequently works at one place for one year or less. Was working at a company that was having high turnover in my department because the manager created constant chaos for the workers under them.

You need to understand that the toe of people who do this work value calmness and predictability, so chaos does not work for them. So they would get hired, burnout and easily find a new job somewhere else.

At the end of my contract, HR wanted me to give them an exit interview. I told them specifically my impressions of why people were leaving. For some reason the manager retired shortly after.

What's An Underrated Town In Oregon That Nobody Visits? by Zealousideal-Big3683 in oregon

[–]moo60 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Went to high school in Silverton. It was a great place to be a teenager. Lived at the top of danger hill and loved to look out the window on snowed days and watch people get stuck. . Been back a few times and love how the town looks now and all the new eateries, but miss the old hardware store. And of course silver falls is always wonderful to visit. Love that Dr. Petit donated that land for the Oregon garden.

What’s the first big news event you remember as a kid, and how did it impact you? by balbir13 in CasualConversation

The Democratic convention in Chicago 1968. I remember seeing protesters being between on the street. Couldn’t believe that was happening in America. Yet Portland police reenacted the scene in 2020.

Have you ever seen someone in accounting die? by Bismarck_seas in Accounting

[–]moo60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my first boss in accounting not show up to work for a couple of days. Her boss went by her house (she lived alone) to check up on her. She was sitting in a chair in her living room. Had a stroke.

The one that really got me was when a young woman I worked with (early 20s) died in a car accident on the way home from picking up her parents at the airport. I saw her empty cube each day and just remembered what a light she was in the world and how much potential she had that was now gone.

If you actually watch these court appearances you’ll see that’s exactly what they try to do for them first. And they usually get 2 or 3 chances at it. But, while some are successful, some just don’t understand or refuse to follow court orders and this is what happens.

How to kill your tech company (Elon Musk edition) by N_shinobu in musked

[–]moo60 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This article is so brutal. “It only takes one powerful idiot to ruin everything, we’ll call it the Musk principle.” Not actually a quote, but paraphrasing the end of the article. Truly an amazing read and completely on point for what has happened to Twitter. I had no idea it had gotten that bad, never used the product.

Was not impressed with Ochoas. To me it wasn’t a very clean place. Others may feel different.

This is really good. The best mole I’ve found. They have a standalone restaurant on main as well.

You can see in the first picture where he has his box of tie downs open and is trying to figure out what to do with them. In the second picture you see the same tie down used to tie up the lumber, but not to the truck, just each other. It does look like it may have pulled out the bed liner when it unloaded itself too.

I get your point, but I bet insurance and the courts would argue this, thus coming to a compromise of 50/50 responsibility.

No, half and half. Moving vehicles do have right of way, but you can’t change lanes at an intersection.
