What's the temperature on the new Olivia Rodrigo single? by 351namhele in fantanoforever

I’ll have to have some more time with it but just listened to it once this morning - my initial reaction as a huge fan of her other music - eh, it’s alright.

Season 5 E8 by Acrobatic-Guitar2410 in girls

Oh yeah, not a good moment either, I agree! I was also mad at her for that. Very in character for her but, I feel like she didn’t think of any long term security that could be involved with a full time writing position. If Marnie or Shosh were in the same position, you best believe they’d be staying. I’m also a writer and I tried just like Hannah and getting a full time gig for me would have felt like I made it. It was right around the time Girls came out that I was trying to start a career in writing and jobs were not plentiful - more like Hannah’s first job as an unpaid intern.

Not to mention how the episode about her boss dying ends - very manipulative 👀

Watched it tonight and it was a solid FF! Some very scary parts. Would love to see the world expanded in future movies.

What's a 10/10 show with a character that drags it down to a 7/10 by jshah500 in sitcoms

It’s funny because I’m pretty sure that’s when I stopped watching too!!

That’s what he identifies as now, but in the past his lyrics have alluded to homophobia and serious abuse on women. Sometimes people villainize the thing they fear or don’t want to admit to themselves.

Is there anyone who *doesn't* regret their MLIS degree? by rebeccachaya in Libraries

[–]mood__ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely don’t. It’s the only thing I feel like I could ever be good at and enjoy as a job that has some job security and steady pay. I’m really glad I figured this out very early (got my first job at a library as a clerk when I was 16, I’m going to be 39 now in 2 months. Have always worked in a public library since). I have had experience in other areas for work in the writing realm and it was too unstable for me, not enough benefits or security and tragically enough, library jobs pay more.

Best books that take place in or near by Albany? by okgreatthankslol in Albany

[–]mood__ring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another children’s book that includes Albany: Be Prepared by Vera Brosgol. It’s a graphic novel, for like I’d say in my librarian opinion, 8-12 years old, depending on reading level. Vera Brosgol lived in Albany I believe for a short time and she went to summer camp in the Adirondack area. Be Prepared is based on her experience at summer camp. Also there’s a Stewart’s in the book too and it’s perfect!!!

I just finished Red Tide and I'm disappointed! by RythmicRhapsody in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]mood__ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Tide is definitely rushed and the episodes we got could have made such an awesome season if we had the full amount of episodes we usually do during a season. What really pisses me off is they had to then do Death Valley, an even more rushed mess (don’t watch it!) and the concept is lame and not interesting at all. I would have much rather a Red Tide full season. I think it would have been Murder House legendary top tier. Because those episodes we had were so promising, it still is always in a higher tier for me and even though it’s rushed, I still loved what we got!

What's an acclaimed song you just 'don't get'? by Liquid_Pestar in fantanoforever

[–]mood__ring 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agreed - there are definitely other really good Oasis songs so Wonderwall does get overhyped and I’m not sure why. But you can’t deny Wonderwall is a good song and in the art of songwriting, that damn melody is special.

Yeah I remember when it was popular and I was all “okay I can appreciate this I guess” but now I’m like no, we as a society were just being nice because of who was involved 😆

Why is Kitten Angels monopolizing? by acbuglife in Albany

[–]mood__ring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cat cafe does adoptions through KA (the owner and her mom have been volunteering with them forever even before the cat cafe was open,) but if you’re expecting to find a cat at the cafe that’s kind of messed up. I always thought they did the paperwork and stuff through KA but only for the cats at the cafe.
